Forums - Sony - Will PS Vita ever get a Monster Hunter title or is it Nintendo 3DS' forever?

Why would they? 3DS userbase in Japan is soo much bigger and that's where the majority of MH fans are now.

Vita will get a MH game in the future, probably a port of the 3ds version

Damn dude... you REALLY want the Vita to succeed.
Would be cool for them to get one, I'm not a fan, but why not both? Oh yeah... exclusive deals.

Probably not until mid-to-late 2014 or possibly later, if at all.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

PS Vita: (writes down Monster Hunter)

If Sony can carry the momentum of Soul Sacrifice over to US and Europe, then there is no need to have the Monster Hunter franchise anymore. Soul Sacrifice will sell well enough to be their answer to Monster Hunter.

With digital sales not being tracked it very hard to determine total sales of Vita games (most Vita sales comes from Digital Downloads).

Best case for Sony is to secure a deal to release a PS4 Monster Hunter for their Japan Launch window.

Tough to imagine. MH4 is at what > 4 million right now.

How many Vita's are even in Japan? I see 5.5 million worldwide. Hard to imagine Capcom moving Monster Hunter away from Vita and its insane install base, especially when they just got confirmation that Monster Hunter has a fanbase on that system.

I imagine a MH5 or whatever next MH game being announced on 3DS will just finally get those few that have been holding out thinking "it will come to vita sooner or later" to finally go and buy a 3DS and thus further increase the fanbase on that system.

As for porting years later? I'm not in the business so no idea on what that stuff costs. it apparantly isn't as cheap as we think or else there would be more games on the Wii U. Cause if it was so cheap to do and basically all profit as we like to think on these forums, makes no sense for 3rd party to not just quickly make a port and just ship 100k or so Wii U games around. They would at least sell that much. Sure its not the millions it sells on others, but its 100k more right? But for some reason they don't do it, so porting must not be as "free money" as we like to think.

It's getting Frontier G, it's not actually gonna sell at all. 100k is at best. But this shows how Capcom is uninterested in the Vita.
