Forums - Gaming - Sony in Talks to Purchase Factory That Manufactures the Embedded DRAM “Heart” of the Wii U

Doesn't sound like a problem for Nintendo. By now they should have produced enough Wii Us to have stockpiles for the system's entire lifetime.

Definitely. They made 6m by last march and produced another 9m for this year. Definitely has to be more than 10m sitting in Nintendo's headquarters right now.

If the deal goes down, Nintendo will either continue to purchase the memory through the same factory from Sony, or they'll find another manufacturer/supplier.

This is hardly earthshaking stuff.

I really don't think this has anything to do with gaming, and it's just a sensationalist article

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

The way Wii-U is selling it's not like Nintendo is a big customer anyway...

Reggie better be careful of what he has to say about Sony from now on or else...

Secret conspiracy to up the WiiU failure rate to PS4 levels confirmed!

Seriously though, I don't see this as being a big deal. Sony supplied Nintendo with the SPC700 sound processor for years after their souring relations with the SNES CD.

So is this real or not? isn't Sony broke?

Is that a serious question?

Couldn't Nintendo simply, you know, find another chip manufacturer?

Its business. Sony and nintendo will continue business. Will sony start using linux OS instead of windows at their corporate offices? Nope. They both do business with each other.

yeah i think people forget that they are business men and not fanboys
