Forums - Gaming - Why are some Sony fans so opposed to 3DS development?

I think Sony should go TP, they'd probably start making $ since they wouldn't have to bleed $ on hardware losses...like Sega before it.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Im a Xbox guy, and this idea makes no sense. As long as you got a console of your own, you stay off the competition. Simple.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I really do think that Sony should not drop Vita. Specially because the device is selling rather well in Japan and is getting a few great games... in THAT market. They will have to be patient, though, and try to keep it as long as possible on the market and forget excentricities like Vita Tv and PS4 crossplay. Just make proper Vita content instead of just porting home console games

now, now... I really hope this thread don´t turn into another fanboy war among the 13093049034304 that we already had.

Nintendo would make so much more money if they went 3rd party and dropped Wii U.

Sony going third party would mean that Sony would continue the general theme that has plagued Nintendo in that they will just ignore them (like the majority of 3rd parties).

Sony would probably shift some games over to the 3DS but would focus (like many third parties are starting to do) on mobile. They would use the proceeds they get from the sale of 3DS games and use it to create a new mobile studio to focus more on their mobile business.

Every console maker should not become third party.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Sony should definetely drop the fiasco the Vita is and develop for 3DS, yes.

But something tells me, that like nintendo, they would rather not do it and just keep their other business.

So, should Ninty also drop the fiasco the WiiU is and develop for ps4? Answer honestly please (btw I own a wii, ps3, psvita and 3ds).

Also, unlike Ninty which has some pretty strong first party franchises, Sony doesn't. I don't see them making any money from going third party (in terms of handlelds).

Microsoft was involved in the making of games for the DS while having the x360.

Just saying...

Aside from Sony Japan, Sony Bend, and Media Molecule (who do put their best foot forward in regards to handheld development), what would really be lost if Sony dropped Vita development? It's a vastly different question from saying "Nintendo should just stop making home console games on their own hardware"

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

They made great games when they were third party, even more the reason to go third party.

You initially said that Nintendo should be third party now because Sony was before them. That wasn't the case.

The complete truth is that before that 2nd gen era (coleco vision and all), Nintendo was also a manufacturer, and made a first gen tennis console (back when consoles didn't use cartridges but had games loaded in the ROM).

Pretty fascinating stuff. :)

Basically Nintendo skipped gen 2 and so was open to releasing DK on 2nd gen consoles, that's until the Famicom came out ;)

Completely off-topic, but last year I got the TV-Game 15 off eBay from Japan boxed and complete. That means the only hardware (not counting all the redesigns) I'm missing is a Game & Watch and the Virtual Boy.

Why did I get it? Because I could .
