Interesting review. Your "conspiracy" is actually not too dissimilar to what I thought actually.

Though I must say, I never expected Rol to enjoy a 3D Mario game. Guess the times are changing after all.

Yes, you can use the d-pad and thus Wiimote-only is also a controller option. The analog stick still offers different movement speed though.

Mario doesn't grab on to ledges and he can't perform double and triple jumps either.

Good, never liked it to be honest. I find platforming less fun with it.

I think we'll see a bit of a shake up in the next SMB game; I think they've realised they can't be lazy about these things any more. Well, at least that's what I'm hoping for, but Nintendo is Nintendo
