Forums - Sales - PS4's 700K EU Launch VS PS3's 600K EU Launch - Which is more impressive?

PS3 obviously.

Welcome back to Sony forums

Well PS3 wasn't 600k to begin with iirc. It was impressive nevertheless.
But of course PS4's 700k is more impressive, it's just huge expectations and Xbox fans downplaying that try to make it seem not.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

PS3, here's why:

1. It was 600 Euros at release.. that's a scary number.
2. It got released like 3 months after the NA adn Japan release where both were disappointing and word was out about the horrible launch lineup.

Don't take anything away from the PS4 though, it could've sold a million easy on demand!

But the 700k number is EU, or is EU+Latin America+Oceania???, because if it's the second one, EU, must be 600k at max., so the same as PS3...

Edit: If PS4 sold 600k in EU, it's not impressive at all considering the UK and NA numbers....

If Sony had 2 million available to Europe they would have sold them all.

Sony Corp. (6758) sold more than 2.1 million PlayStation 4 game consoles globally since its release last month as Chief Executive Officer Kazuo Hirai seeks to revive the company’s consumer electronics business.

About 700,000 units were sold in Europe and Australasia as of Dec. 1 after the console went on sale in those markets on Nov. 29, the Tokyo-based company said in a statement today.

700k for the first 3 days globally outside of the US.

Was UK 250k?    So 450k for the rest of Europe and Australasia?

That's what it seems..., and Australasia..., how much? 15-30k???, So  total Europe around 675k??

An assumption. Supply issues aren't confirmed as of now.

Disagree it is not obvious, sony was coming off the ps2... Sony could have sold 2 million has supply been there, so this comparison is really pointless. Simply a matter of stock.

It is not obvious. SONY only shipped 450k to the rest of Europe and Australasia? Something is off.
