Which launch do you think was more impressive?

I want to say PS4 as it does seem like theys old what they shipped, whereas with PS3 quite a bit of stock was available!

However what PS3 achieved at £425/Euro 599 (in the market 6 years ago..where the competition was far lower in price) along with all the bad press it had to fight since E3 2006/American/Japan launched is truly commendable. Of course it was ultimately still coming off the most successful system in history & was a "playstation"!

Arguably the PS4 has launched when the Playstation brand may be weaker than at the PS3 launch.

Sony understocked europe to send more units to north america

Simple as that, the PS4 would have sold over 1 million in europe, if the circumstances were different.

I do wonder how high it could have got had supply = demand!!!!

could have easily sold 2mil 1st week if the stock was there. demand in Eu/ANZ is just insane

Where the ps4 numbers come from?, anyway ps3 numbers sounds more impressive considering the price and hate at that time.

PS3 numbers are insane given the price and how much better the 360 was at the time.

With 250,000 in UK and 700,00 in Europe shows that Sony is targeting and focusing first at MS territories. PS1,PS2,PS3 all released in Japan first, but Sony was not willing to give MS any head start this gen.

@OP, I think both are impressive in their own way. PS3 had reputation on it's side thanks to the PS2 and PS4 feels like PS2 all over again.

PS3 I think but PS4 did very well regardless, but could have been much higher if demand was met, which is still quite impressive as there is not really much compelling software available, alot of good shit coming out next year, but at the moment seems lacksture in terms of launch titles.

If PS4 is definitely understocked then the comparison is invalid? You can't really compare.
