Forums - Sony - The Order: 1886 Isn’t Likely To Appear at VGX 2013

Like Ducks is basically saying, I wouldn't worry about The Order. It's almost certainly releasing this year. Back around Gamescom they said that the game is still about a year away from release but they had already been working on it for a few years. Keep in mind this project had been in the concept stages back in 2005 if I'm not mistaken.

Plenty of games have gone with showing very little right up until a couple months before release even when people knew about the game for a long time. It's basically about setting priorities. There are still quite a few games that Sony has shown next to nothing on, some games for 2014 that have yet to be announced, and even games for 2015 that I'm sure Sony will want to start talking about soon.

Driveclub and Infamous are going to be getting the spotlight here soon and I'm guessing that Sony doesn't want those games to be overshadowed by showing off a lot of a game many are expecting to be one of the bigger titles but isn't going to be out for some time. I would expect that we'll see more on games like Rime and Shadow of the Beast before we see more on The Order or Uncharted.

I would just relax. I seriously doubt that this one is going to slip beyond a late 2014 release. They have another year before that happens on a game they've already spent years on and that Sony is likely banking on being a system seller for the year.

Um, with all the delays that happen... you guys are still talking about "don't worry no way it won't be released in 2014".

The Last Guardian, GT5, The Last of Us, Drive Club, etc.

In that case, why not assume every game will be delayed? Pointing out that some games get pushed back has nothing to do with whether or not upcoming games by entirely different studios will.

Use your own judgement.

The Order isnt far along enough to even show gameplay to the public. And it's supposed to release within 10 months or so?

I'll give Naughty Dog the benefit of the doubt because theyve been pretty on target with Uncharted... always releasing in Oct/Nov.

I look forward to this game, and hopefully it lives up to expectations. Given I sometimes get eerie eight days vibe from this game. Hopefully we will see more soon.

Given I bet I am the only one who knows what Eight Days is.

A lot of delays incoming. Delaystation.

"Damn. Something tells me the game is still in early development phrase. It might not get released in 2014."

Maybe because we haven't really seen any gameplay footage yet?

But go ahead fanboys, get me banned! :)

So I guess you just ignored my first post? Not showing gameplay doesn't mean they can't show gameplay, especially since they already did several months ago. And the journalists who saw the gameplay seemed to have a positive response to it, so it's not like the gameplay isn't ready to be shown either.

Guess you never really read that article properly.

The GAME wasn't shown. A tech demo of Ru Weerasuriya blowing stuff up and demonstrating the physics was shown. That's all.

The last actual game that they released was in 2010, though they did a port in 2011

It's not like they've only just started it. I also believe that Game Informer saw some stuff

Anyway, I can wait. If Uncharted doesn't show up on the other hand, then I'll be pissed
