People are actually listing Xbox One boxes on eBay for hundreds of dollars

Yes, people are actually selling special edition day one Xbox One boxes for insane prices on Ebay.

Day one Xbox consoles are in limited supply, but purchasing just the packaging for the special edition console? Well, that’s a little ridiculous.

The selling-just-the-box scam has been around on Ebay for a quite awhile now, but most of these listings have the fact that they only come with the console’s special edition day one box, listed right in the items title. Usually writing that states the bidder is only buying a box is hidden in fine print somewhere.

The only way I can see buying one of these boxes making any sense is if you already own a day one Xbox One (with the special day one engraving on it) but don’t have a box.

Still, paying $300 to $400 for just a box? There’s really no way anyone can justify that.

The sad thing is, whether intentionally or not, people are actually bidding on these box only Xbox One listings.

Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox one are being listed on Kijiji/Craigslist for costs far above their listed retail price tags. The Xbox One was released on Nov. 22 and costs $499 (if you’re able to find one in stores).

They are actually listing them as box only. People want the boxes. I have no idea why. LMAO

What?!? I was about to toss my day one edition box, holy crap! Now I have the perfect xmas gift for a certain lucky someone!

I'm hoping nobody is dumb enough to just buy the box for $400. As a matter of fact I think the regular box looks better then the Day One box anyway.

on the positive side it looks like the actual market for the real consoles is currently at $600. Supply is definitely an issue at this point.

Say a combo XBONE and PS4 for about $1200.

A lot of collectors buy those boxes, watching old video game consoles boxes can give you sweet dreams of the old days....Ah I was so young...  OH god a free demo!!!
