How is memory bandwidth going to make up for a better GPU???? Even with that esram + DDR3 is not going to be faster then unified GDDR5.
This is fud.

That link says NOTHING about GDDR5, it only talks about the limitations of DDR3 RAM. |
Did I say anyting about DDR5? I am talking about ESRAM and the advantages of it if used properly. I am not talking about GPU or DDR5.

Those setups don't even use RAM the same way, that's apples and oranges comparison lol. Unified GDDR5 is not some fucking voodoo magic, it is however, easier to work with.

| Vasto said: Digital Foundry: What is your experience with the ESRAM on Xbox One? How do you utilise it in Ryse? Is 32MB really enough for the high-bandwidth rendering elements you'd want to utilise? How important is allocating graphics between DDR3 and ESRAM for Xbox One development? Cevat Yerli: We put our most accessed render targets like the G-Buffer targets into ESRAM. Writing to ESRAM yields a considerable speed-up. While 32MB may not be enough to use something like MSAA to the fullest, with a smart memory management strategy it is possible to deal with that. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-crytek-the-next-generation |
and MSAA is a waste of resources anyways, what we need for the future are good MLAA solutions to not waste the limited bandwidth on consoles.
Before anybody bitches about quality, most people can't even notice it, or in a lot of cases the filter actually does a better job.

And neither is esram, nor will it give Ms any advantage over GDDR5 or the ps4's betetr gpu.

It very well might be. The exclusives will tell the story though.

Dude, I think you're in the wrong argument, because that is not what they are talking about at all. Them: GDDR5 vs ESRAM + DDR3. You: Advantages of ESRAM. So I fail to see your point. |
Then we have nonthing further to discuss.

Like I said earlier, the difference will be the GPU, PS4 will push out better graphics due to it, if we are going to talk shit about something, we should aim at the right areas, like X1 currently has a shitty OS, X1 has a weaker GPU, X1 is 100 USD more, X1 has Kinect that most people just don't care for, X1's voice commands don't work very well for a lot of people, X1 is bigger, you know, shit that are valid. Just not the apples to oranges RAM layout, shit makes no sense.

I totally agree. Quantum Break trailer coming at VGX.
