The first dev to say this. Not surprised, they've been very silent before when Xbox had the DRM, while they've been very anti-DRM on PC for the longest time.

?

This is the first time I hear something like this as well. Usually it's been that the PS4 version was running in a matter of weeks, while the XO crew had to be bigger and work 3-4 times longer to get similar results.

CD-Projekt have been anti-DRM and still are.

The biggest blow to them though wasn't this MS policy, but when they've learned that XO won't launch in Poland. They felt really awkward after the E3 event, promoting a console from a company that consideres their country as a tier 5-6 country, not even knowing if it's going to release here before their game is out.

Again, ?

What does DRM has anything to do with this?

Ah, that I don't know :)

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I knew CD Projekt was against DRM xD They kinda forced it back on the original Witcher but because they were forced too, and after some time they finally removed it and gave away the enhanced version for free. They later worked on the Witcher 2, which they ported to 360 (that's why I think they're saying X1 is easier, they have experience with Microsoft machines...I guess.). They also uploaded the enhanced version of the 360 for free to any PC user.

They're awesome developers in my book, and that's even more impressive considering they've only done two games.

I'm actually more interested in Cyberpunk. I did not like the combat system of Witcher and Witcher 2, so depite the awesome looks of the game, unless they fix that horrid combat, its a no-go for me.

My point here is... CDproject... focus more on the design than the graphics. I  want a fun game, i dont want to be bored to tears with eye candy.

Yeah. They also released 2 free DLCs to the first Witcher. Clearly shows they aren't into milking their fans. That's why they've earned a lot of respect.

It's such a pity I can't play any of their games right now My gaming PC died when I was in the last chapter of W1, so I can't finish it or play W2 either, as I don't have a X360 as well. But I plan to buy a gaming PC in 2014, so I will be able to finish the games Though obviously, I'd love it if they ported the first two games to Vita

PS4 harder to develop for yet games look better. Can't wait to see what games look like when developers learn how to program better for it.

Edit: nevermind.

Considering that XBOne HW architecture is actually more complicated (if we don't consider the auxiliary ARM system in PS4, that though is not used by games, but by the OS), MS must already have done a very good job with SDK, API, etc to abstract the HW even since so early in console's life, so, good job MS.
I'll get TW3 for PC anyway, but compliments deserved by MS, anyhow, as it's clear from the article, no need to worry for Sony even right now, and things can only better as time goes by.

I hope they make proper use of the esram and the tiled resources.

Yeah, any developer that takes the time to figure out how to properly utilize those should be releasing much better looking Xbox One versions of multiplatform games. It sounds like CD Projekt may be one of those developers. I doubt that Witcher 3 will utilize DX11.2 on the Xbox One, simply because the game was probably well into development by the time Microsoft finalized 11.2, but hopefully Cyberpunk 2077 will utilize 11.2 on the Xbox One and PC.

Umm please tell me you don't actually believe this? That tiny 32 MB esram won't do anything to make up the big GPU and ram bandwidth PS4 has.. Ps4 will also get betetr as time goes on. Multi-plats won't look better on X1. This esram BS was shot down ages ago by anyone with any kind of technical knowledge.  Please explani how 32 MB os esram will magically make up the fairyl significant power gap between the two?? Sounds like you believe what ever nonsense MS spews.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Different designs lead to similar places

After looking at both the Xbox One and PS4, I think we see companies arriving at the same point through rather different approaches. Both manufacturers chose architecture they felt would allow them to work most effectively. Microsoft invested more silicon in large, low latency caches, while Sony sank more money into raw bandwidth. As far as performance is concerned, this could well end up a tie; as the Xbox One should be able to access data more quickly, while the PS4 can stream sustained data far more effectively. Since game developers can leverage both of those features, the final result could be a wash.

Both companies also picked designs that should be relatively easy to migrate to new process nodes. As 20nm technology comes online, we’ll probably see refreshes in 12-18 months. It won’t surprise me if the first SSD designs start to pop up then, too — there’s too much potential upside in a premium SKU with solid state storage for either company to ignore the possibility.
