- MNN conveniently forgot to mention that digital sales aren’t taken into account, and the Wii U has the lowest install base out of any of the systems prior to the other Mario games launching. The PS Vita barely outsold the Wii U, by about 40 units to be exact. On top of this, the Wii U was the top HOME CONSOLE sold. Why is this site comparing a handheld to console? To attract the trolls for hits, that’s why.

Lighting Returns: Final Final Fantasy 13 Bests Super Mario 3D world by 177,494 Units on the Media Create charts 

- I go to this site all the time, and they have never announced the exact amount one systems game (with a far bigger install base) has sold more than another systems game. There have been days that Nintendo’s exclusives have far outsold Sony and Microsoft’s exclusives, and they have never named the exact amount in the heading.

Super Mario 3D World Underwhelms on Japanese Chart Debut 

- Nintendo Life goes out of their way to say SM3DW was outsold by Lighting Returns FF 13, while forgetting that the PS3 has about 9 to 10x the install base. I understand that Nintendo Life is a Nintendo based site, but if you are going to mention Lighting Returns, you should also state that Lighting Returns was by far the lowest selling entry into the Final Fantasy 13 saga for PS3, even though the systems install base has greatly improved since 2010.

On top of everything I just said, since when was selling 100,000 on opening day bad? And its just ONE region. The Wii U was still the top console sold, and Super Mario 3D World charted #2. I don’t see what the big deal is. It seems like Japan only matters when the media can troll Nintendo, otherwise the Western Media gives Sony and Microsoft a pass.

Lol I suppose everyone forgot that handhelds are king in japan? or that Super Mario Land is still the best selling 3DS game so mario is ovbiously not dead... "sign" i would make more points but for some people logic is  completely irrelevant

Well I suppose you make a decent point but when lack important information like the HUGE userbase gap, Comparaing consoles to handhelds in a region that is handheld dominaNt, and in the past ingorned simmilar events becuase it didnt benefit there console preference. I think its safe to say thats  a bit biased, which could be considered a form of "trolling"

The headlines they use do sound a little trollish, but they also do the same to PS3 and 360.
