I kind of feel sorry for Xbox One users. Lower resolutions and significantly longer install times.

You don't like I didn't feel sorry for PS3 users because of worse install-system (well, not present in any way), bigger patches, worse patches, worse multiplats...

Weird how its totally the opposite now.

Funny how this topic was never of any interest until now

PS3 install times was always a running joke between my circle of friends.

There were threads on GAF with little interest of the bad patching system from Sony for PS3 and I started a small discussion but there was close to no interesten on GAF and here to discuss this issue. No differential patches, no cumulative patches, long installs of patches, adding the bad psn-performance many users have...

Either way, I still love my 360 :)

I guess because it wasnt really a fresh topic everyone new PS3 had install problems, the fact that the consoles have fully reversed who gets you in quick and who can take upto 20 mins, its worth talking about at least for a short period, till everyone gets use to just how it is.

I think the initial install is not *that* much of a problem. I installed every 360-game on my hdd because of less noise and load times and had no problem waiting for it.

What I am looking forward to see is if Sony has improved their patching process as a whole.

Me too, certainly downloading in background is a great start at least and mitigates alot of the problems with having to wait, differntial patches would be nice to see too.

But with autoupdating if they can push patches to users as soon as they are released even when the console is in standby that would be the best solution.

Well, auto-updating really sounds nice but both systems need way lower power usage in standby, in my opinion. But I am sure both will fix and improve their systems with firmware and new hardware revisions. Currently I am glad I decided to wait for next-gen!

Sorry guys but something is wrong with your PS4.

+ Automaticly Login enabled

Go to StandBy.

Waited some 10 minutes.

Pressed the PS button in controller and it just beeped and jumped to the News... left and X... Resogun started.

LESS THAN 5 SECONDS!!!

That's it... less than 5 seconds (it was 4 but I will say 5) to start to load RESOGUN.

Who is saying 20 seconds for the StandBy feature is wrong... I can make a video.

The standby time is flawed. They didn't sign in on the PS4 to go to the actual dashboard. Xbox One boots up and recognizes the player in 12 seconds. I just timed it.

I confime... the video is true... even with automacticly sign-in enable my PS4 needs less than 5 seconds to start from Standby... I can start to load RESOGUN in less than 5 seconds after press the PS button.

Amazing.

i get auto-signed in.

Didn't matter... less than 5 seconds from Standby with auto-signed in on/off.

The video you posted earlier of the PS4 starting from standby mode is not accurate. It takes about 15-20 seconds to reach the login screen from standby mode.

I can confirm now... the video is true... I can make a video here too... from Standby to start to load RESOGUN in less than 5 seconds.

I'm getting about 20 seconds with my PS4. From standby, I start up my PS4. PS logo displays, then the health the safety warning displays, then I'm automatically logged in.

Not sure how you get it to boot in 5 seconds.
