Forums - Gaming - Kotaku: Installing Xbox One Games Takes Way Too Long

That's rather impressive even from a PC fans perspective. I wish steam would implement download and play. Blizzard games do it.

isn't ideal wow for instance will have way longer loading times when going to a different continent and a shitload of doodads and other non critical items aren't around when travelling normally

Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Cerny fantastic feature Play & Install.

That's what it is. 42s is too fast for a 20GB install

Yea PS4 is awesome. I really can't wait for the next 2 weeks of sales data, I hope PS4 crushes XBO

I championed the Xbox 360 for its nearly instant updates, optional (not mandatory) installs, and overall better ability to get you into the game and playing when compared to the PS3.

Looks like the PS4 is handling the process better, this time. Gotta give credit where it's due. PS4 has the edge, for now. After that first install, it shouldn't be an issue but it is what it is. Advantage, Sony.

However, with gen 7 ending, people are praising the PS4 over the Xbox One for doing things the Xbox 360 did better than the PS3. Hopefully, people can admit that the 360 was an amazing piece of tech, last gen. And hopefully, people will admit that the PS4 is an amazing piece of tech, this gen. And hopefully people will forgive how freely I use the term "amazing".

Holy shit. Look at Kirby spin. That is ridiculous.

Also I want this on steam. Especially after I upgraded to an SSD. Only keep 3 or 4 games at a time now.

The tables have been turned.

I can confirm That Ryse did take around 5-10 mins to install 7- 8% at which point it allows you to play. But it does do any updates first, which is nice.

The Ps4 install is really impressive. I believe though it does the update at the end. So only uses the update after you restart the game. Is that right?

You can have sex while it is installing the games. Big deal.

You are fast man.  Your wife or girlfriend doesn't complain ?

I am not planning to buy an Xbone, that comment was for potential Xbone owners.

Using that logic PS4 owners have to have sex in mere seconds. PS4 will make girls unhappy.
