Who said anything about hating the game?  You probably shouldn't get so emotionally invested in sales numbers.  Is there anything incorrect in my posts, or do you just see them as bashing because you don't like what the numbers represent?

Because Pikmin was never popular anywhere. Why Nintendo made another sequel I will never know but 3D Mario has never been popular there.

....seriously? 3D Mario is not popular in Japan, that's what we're claiming now? Your graph proves the complete opposite, nearly every 3D Mario has sold over a million units in Japan, which is something hardly any game series can claim about itself over there. 3D Mario is popular in Japan.


Not as much as 2D Mario.

Ahh the good old Nintendo bashing is in full force from the same people as always...
3 days sales is all we have so far.

Nintendo games have a long history of having "legs"

Not to mention it's not even holiday season in japan yet

nor have other big brand name games been released

come back in a year then we can talk about it

Dude, you label yourself as Captain of the Nintendo defense force. You can't say you don't care for what "brand" published a game.


lol.. Back then, we called what I have on my signature 'user tags' if i recall correctly. But the user tag wasn't picked by each user, it was done by somebody else.. I don't remember who was the guy who "handed" the user tag for each member that requested one, I don't think he posts here anymore (perhaps another old member of this site may remember who was).

At first I was going to say that sounds pretty low, but then someone posted a chart of all past 3D Mario games in Japan. Seems a little low, but not abysmal given the installed base of the Wii U.

It's not the install base. It's the game or should I say the style of game. Japan does not like 3D mario yet Nintendo in all their "genius" couldn't see that fact from past efforts yet they continue to kill any momentum by releasing yet another one. Stupid Nintendo! Why you so stupid?

In terms of HW sales i guess Mario doesn`t usually do a lot for home consoles (at least).
