Suikoden 2

Close thread now.

I've never played Suikoden 2. I'm pretty sure it's on PSN on PS3. I'll have to go back and check. That said, every Suikoden game I have played had an excellent story. I really enjoyed Suikoden III and V. Especially V, the Queendom aspect was fascinating.

All suikodens in the main series are tide together, character re appear and story continues. You should play it.

You can play Xenogears on Vita, digital version of course. I know this for a fact as it is on mine now :)

Can't find it on PSN. Guess it's yet another case of EU getting screwed over

I'm not sure about now but it was one of the titles that I had to download via PC or PS3, then transfer it to Vita. I would have hoped by now Sony had rectified that little debacle. Did it ever release on PSN in EU? I'm in US

I'm searching it on a PC and it's not there. Such a pity :( We don't get so many jRPGs that you get.

Xenogears never released for EU, so it'l only on theJapan and U.S. PSN.

I suggest you buy a U.S. PSN card, create a U.S. account, and buy it. Or buy the physical version secondhand, and play it with the EPSXE emulator on your PC. I'm playing FF8 on emulator and it works pretty good.

I'm not saying the ending wasn't predictable. I'm saying that how it was implemented was damn cool and memorable.

I disagree with that as well. Had I not looked up the ending, and not believed the messages in game which say it would delete my saves, then I would be very annoyed. Well okay, since I didn't really like this game much, I wouldn't be that annoyed, but had I seen ending D before C, I would be somewhat upset.

I find it cool though that Nier takes place after Ending E in Drakengard though, and all this talk really makes me want to play Drakengard 2 and 3.

I have a question for you. So I went out and bought Suikoden 1, 3-5, Tactics and the DS one. I didn't buy 2 (yet) because it's expensive, and I want to beat 1 first to make sure I like it enough to spend $100 or so.

So my question is, how do you advise tackling this series? Is it best played by release order (1-5, then the spin offs), or is there a better order to play? Would it be a big deal if I loved 1 and skipped 2? What if I played the DS installment first?

That would be the case only if the player's motivation is to get all of the endings.

I also personally consider ending D to be the true ending, and by extension the most desireable one of them all.

This is not an opinion but a fact.

Yea, but if you save right before the boss of the game, ending C and D can both be earned simply by loading that save and beating the boss again (well the end game segment leading to the boss too).

Plus if you're beating the game for the 3rd time, chances are you have the incentive to see all the endings.

Anyway.....we just disagree. Everyone has their own tastes right?

P.S. reading this thread really makes me want to play XenoGears. I'm definitely going to do that in 2014, I want to beat it before X releases.

God I miss those days when consoles weren't powerful enough to do first person shooters.

Doom, GoldenEye, Medal of Honor. All quite of the era of Xenogears. All 3 some of the best games ever made. Thats when all that fps stuff got started. But I understand what you mean.

Yeah play them in order, The DS version has nothing to do with the main series, Suikoden 1 is good but its leagues behind 2. If you don't end up liking them you can sell them all to me if you want ^^ But yeh it wouldnt be that big of a deal if you played them in any order, its just that there is a lot of lore and wars that will make alot more sense if you did though. But make sure you play 1 before 2 because 2 makes references to 1 :P
