I know it's tempting but it's probably best to not get drawn in by his vitriol.  It usually just spirals into a flame war.  That's what some people want, even though it accomplishes nothing.

Do you want a console-like experience in your pocket? if yest, get Vita. If not get 3DS. If you want lots of good first party games, get 3DS.
They are both great systems, can't really go wrong with either one.

It's so sad when the point I was making flies right over your head and everyone can see it. There are multiple posts in this thread that are in the fashion of "Vita is better because personally I play it way more" and you were obviously very cool with that. Yet as soon as I make a post in similar fashion you feel the urge to "counter" it immediatly. The actual content of your post doesn't interest me at all except for the condescending "So this is how we do this now?" despite the fact that Vita die hards  are arguing like this for pretty much the entire time of the devices life.

 

A recent observation of mine is also very entertaining. There seem to be a lot of Vita people who also happen to have a 3DS which totally sucks in comparison, but there are really not many 3DS owners who also have a Vita. One could argue that at one point or another, Vita owners felt compelled to get a 3DS additionally to a Vita but not many 3DS owners feel the same urge to get a Vita on the side. One could think that 3DS owners are generally more satisfied with their handheld of choice while Vita owners begrungingly need to get dat 3DS for this or that game that they want to play. 

So OP, if you want to buy two handhelds this generation, by all means, go buy a PS Vita.

The reality is that many developers are pleased with the high attach rate of the Vita. Vita owners buy software. Look at how well games like Senran Kagura, Demon Gaze, or Tokiden have sold--and these developers are supposedly going to drop support of the Vita? Right, that makes sense.

The only problems with the Vita is that it doesn't have that mega-hit that would get it flying off the shelves and it doesn't have any software that really appeals to kids, the primary owners of handhelds in the west. Because of that, like the Wii U, it has fallen into a bit of a niche machine with regards to mid-tier Japanese games and indie titles. However, it's bloody fantastic in that niche. People just have to decide if those games interest them.


They don't the last few months alone we had KZ mercenary, Tearaway and Y's launched, Bl2 and others on the way, vita is NOZT going anywhere. It is exactly what I was talking about, people come in every vita thread and spew that nonsense.
