the most successful games in western countries are also not famous for their graphics or great resolution. fifa, cod, just dance and so on.

and games like mario on wii look also better as they did the generation before wii. just because wii doesn't have ps3 graphics doesn't mean that games didn't improve graphically. and i think if a game releases with good and bad graphics, japanese would also prefer the better looking version as long as the gameplay is the same.
a cod player will prefer cod on ps4 compared to ps3 but he still buys cod and not battlefield because the cod gameplay is the important factor for the cod fan. and battlefield player play battlefield because of the gameplay and not because it looks better as cod. well, at least most of them.

No no no.
Dragon Quest remained the same for 7 games before Enix said " we should catch up with technology" Japan didnt care
Pokemon remained the same up till X Y - Japan didnt care
Monster Hunter has remained the same... and still is - Japan dont care.
There is also Dynasty Warriors, Ace Attourney, Mega Man ext
Heres what is different. Western gamers expect a graphic leap EVERY game. Japan tends to create 1 engine per generation for a series and will use that the whooole gen with no major changes between games. So yes gen over gen a graphic leap a graphic leap is expected in Japan NOT game over like over here.

I've only played the GCN original, so I can't speak for all games in the series, but I find the gameplay in Animal Crossing engaging, rewarding, and highly addictive. There aren't many pre-set objectives and challenges in the game, which might be the source of your frustration, but I find that freedom and open-endedness of Animal Crossing to be very satisfying.

The pope won't like your remark... the previous one said that just people without faith got AIDS.

Uhh, the Wii sold the most in Europe and North America too until Nintendo completely dropped support of it 2 years ago, and now the 360 has overtaken it in NA and the PS3 on the verge of doing the same in Europe.
And maybe, just maybe... that's because gamers value GAMES over anything else, and the Wii just doesn't have the games compared to 360 and PS3. This was also the same case for PS1 and PS2 dominating Japan the previous 2 gens... because they had the games.
