I think Microsoft is selling the Xbox One right now for 500 dollars because they CAN. I think once all the hardcore fans buy the system at 500 dollars they will quickly lower the price to 400 dollars to compete with PS4. Xbox One will be sold out this whole holiday season so why sell it at a cheaper price if there is money to be made? I'm betting once sales die down and XOne comes in stock Microsoft will quickly lower their price to 400 dollars probably spring-summer next year. Thats the price I'm waiting for who agrees?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Have there been any hardware tear downs yet? I'd like to see the estimates, akin to the PS4 tear down which valued it at $381 or so.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Only if they want more investers calling to withdrawl from the business

i think that would be much harder to determine with kinect. but what do i know really

Well, that sounds like a plausible route for them. It makes sense from a business perspective but would be kind of a crappy way to treat the hardcore fans.

I'm sure the techies will figure it out. R&D is another thing though. I saw tear downs that set the PS4's components individually before putting them together. I'm more interested in how the box stacks up to ther other box.

Got a friend who worked on kinect ersatz. Final cost was approximatively 300$, including kickass software.

I aggree 100%. This is exactly what they are doing.

They won't drop the price that soon unless they feel they have little choice, much like what happened with Nintendo. Only if they see market share tumbling would they take such an action.
