Forums - Microsoft - Totally cool and unexpected Xbox One Feature!

FrancisNobleman said:
nope.

the best feature is that you can order pizza with kinect voice commands.

Incredible!I'm sure ordering pizza with voice commands is a great experience.

At least for those who didn't own a telephone in the past 100 years to order a pizza with it-by voice command.

New tech can be so amazing sometimes.

Of course this turns into a troll thread.

Anyway it's nice when you first get your system, but really nice when you visit friends. Not only do your games follow you, but so does everything else.

Well that was expected in my opinion.

If you make people pay to access entertainment apps they already pay for, gotta give them something in return. Not bad.

This.

cool I guess, but overpriced for access ($60 gold)

I think a better service justifies 90 odd cents more a month.

So Xbox has been keeping all your usernames and passwords? Well that isn't good, the only login and password it should know are for XBL.

What's the concern? You're afraid someone is gonna screw with your Netflix favorites?

Sounds like you're not, so please, post all your "Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, HBO Go, Vimeo" usernames/passwords here in this thread, okay?

If you don't: What the hell is your concern? Are you afraid someone is gonna screw with your Netflix favourites?

Who knows, we might even be lucky and you turn out to be one of those fools who do not use unique & random one-time-passwords for all logins, so your Netflix credentials that you consider so useless might allow hijacking many more accounts... (Facebook, Amazon, whatever)

The idea the a company like MS would hijack individual user accounts is ubserd. WHat would doing anything like that benifit them?

We already give them our payment info. So a level of trust is already there. why would we post sensitive information in this forum in the public eye? You cannot compare the two, find another reference.

Now a legitimate concern is credit card information. *insert comment about Sony losing users credit card information here and hold for laughter*

Here starts the derailing of the thread...

I'm just saying servers from Sony or MS holding onto my streaming video information isn't a big concern. in fact, its a convenience if you move from machine to machine.

However, giving them credit card information is a much more legitimate concern and I gave an example why.

Well, it they do it right they will not be able to see your passwords, even if they wanted to (without a key logger or some other means of gaining your private information) if the database is set up properly.  One sets the  password fields so they can't be view or downloaded - like how they look in little ****  when you type them.  So, that even if you hack into the data, like names and birthdates, you can not get the passwords from the system.

But if someone company forgets to bother to define the passwords field’s as passwords, then that information would be nice and clear.  As many people reuse their password, it could give unscrupulous people a big gift of information. It’s a basic level database design as basic as putting your name on a paper, report or book if you want to be recognized.  And some company with a huge leak forgot to do that.

It’s such a basic level of database design there is no excuse.  It was just a big mistake.  So they issued a big apology and offer to help monitor for fraud.

TL/DR: Micosoft probably stores the data so even if they were hacked; the hackers shouldn't have accessed to the password data.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

I dont get it, i can buy xbox live for a year for 24 euro's no way in hell thats 60 bucks

Xbox live is $60 for a year in US. Playstation plus is $50 for a year in US. I can get you links if you want, but the prices are well known here... I guess you guys are just spoiled with cheap prices!

I have never bought Xbox Live for $60 in the US. About 5 times a year Ebay sells them through Buy.com for $35. And there's plenty of sales on them from Amazon during the year. Its the reason I'm set up until 2016 for LIVE.

The people saying well the problem is them storing your credit card information. Microsoft has been storing Credit Card information for at least a decade. Stop just trying to invent issues. Then if I am Ok that Microsoft stores my Credit Card information is it OK that they store the information to login to other services. Kinds silly to think that would be an issue isn't it. Even funnier is this coming from fans o the company that suffered one of the worst hacking episodes ever

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
