Good point, although they do merge the ratings. Imagine if metacritic merged the user and critic scores.

Website would become useless for games (Movie wise on both Metacritic and RT, user scores are usually in line with critics).


Exactly, which means if the trend continues on Amazon the ratings will be useless as well, which is pretty bad considering people use those a lot to decide what to buy.

1 person here fucked up the user review.  

Another example of how botched the user rating system is on Metacritic is for games.

Went from an 8.5 to 6.1 after a cosemtic Halloween update didn't happen.  Rabid entitled fanboys everywhere.

If someone sabotage like thad I agree is low, but about dota I might agree^^

While Metacritic isn't the de-facto establishment if a game is good or not, it does somewhat paint a picture of the overall industry.

If anything tho some of the reviewers they allow on Metacritic is questionable.

It's still 10000% better than user reviews.

Funny, you don't really see Sony games with user scores like this. Nintendo? Idk, didn't check.

I noticed this about CoD vs Battlefield a couple years ago. Every CoD Youtube video and meta link were infested with dislikes, bad user scores, and overall shitty comments. Yet Battlefield videos and meta links were relatively clean of shenanigans from CoD nerds. Looks like Xbros took the high road here as well. High five to them.

You don't see Sony painting a huge target on their back either. I'm sure they would have gotten the same treatment in 2006.
