| kitler53 said: so i just came back from my local target and like ps4 last week,... xbone is sold out. ...i was surprised to see soo much software in stock though. ps4 sold out of everything except knack. xbone had ample supply of everything except CoD:G and BF4. i'm guessing that means lower software sales; a lower attach rate would kind of make sense give the extra $100 price tag. ...or maybe just more digital consumers. dunno. will wait for numbers. |
Is it really surprising there is more software? Last week target did a buy 2 get 1 free deal on games, so even if you didnt buy your ps4 there, you still went there to buy your games...

if what was in the low 600's? sales? he is about supply being low due to yields |
What do you guys mean by yields?
lucky for them cuz i cant get one anywhere in my area. Called everywhere and they are all gone, they said until next year
thought the high price in my area would stop buyers but it was sold out but the time I got there....don't know hhow long I'l have to wait.

terrible yields. |
Xb one only launching in 13 countries suggests production rate is not the best, and relatively low yields could be part of the reason. If MS could produce enough Xb ones to launch in all of its intended markets they would. Same with Sony. The difference is that Sony is launching in a lot more of its intended markets this month (nearly all other than Japan?), and as a consequence is producing at a much higher rate.
Xb one launches in its strongest market slightly lower than PS4, and it has stock available for walk up purchases in many parts of the country. Suggests that stock on hand has as much, if not more, to do with demand than supply.
This launch has been considerably better than it would have been had MS stuck to its DRM guns, probably 100 to 200% better, so that's a positive. But I don't see how reasonable amounts of stock on hand can be seen in a positive light when so many people were positing that Xb one would be sold out everywhere, "just like PS4 will be".

That's something to be PROUD of. I'm still struggling to learn Spanish after 3½ years ...

As mentioned by someone else Day one boxes are black, not green.
And woah, those yield issues xD
I think in comparison MS shipped more consoles than Sony. Sony shipped somewhere around 1-1.2million consoles in NA, and they are gone just about everywhere. A sizable chunck of PS4 stock is being held for Black Friday and EU launch, where Sony will be hitting at least 18 Countries or so.
MS has assuredly shipped over a million WW, its more of a question of allocation. I would guess they shipped 1.5million WW as bare minimum they would. Somewhere around 500k to 700k of this would be held for US specifically and the rest allocated to the other 12 countries. UK would get the next biggest chunk for sure. So MS more than likely is telling the truth, and did sell 1million, but thats across multiple countries and there is still that 0.5 to get rid of.
