Forums - Gaming - Kaz Hirai: Microsoft has released a guide on how to use XBOX ONE voice commands

I know I mean, only 90-95% accuracy. MS might as well just stop selling Xbox Ones.

The hyperbole and bullshit you spray to downplay the Xbone is really adorable, just thought I'd let you know. Will not bother responding to whatever you reply with.

I just read the Gizmodo's article from you toke the video... I'm just sharing what they said... you need perfect condictions to works fine and when it works it is Amazing but more of the time it didn't works.

I'm watching the Polygon livestream too... the things are even worst than what I read in the reviewers (every reviewers pointed that the voice commands didn't works fine in most of the cases).

I don't need to downplay anyting about Xbone because MS is already doing this job... so what your point? I'm just sharing what I'm sawing/reading.

If you care you can read your own source: http://gizmodo.com/xbox-one-review-absolutely-amazing-when-it-works-1467466379

PS. Nothing what I wrote is bullshit... you can read in any review on the internet.

I've actually been really impressed with the PS4 camera voice controls. Only once did it make a mistake. I said Start but it thought I said Knack.

Also not to be the devil's advocate, but every PS4 does come with voice commands. That cheap included earbud has a mic.

That defeats the purpose of using voice commands if you have to hold the controller. You might as well use the controller. And the PS4 thinking you said Knack instead of Start is a HUGE mistake. Nobody wants to play Knack. -___-

In the PS4's case, yeah it's pointless. However the XBONE works much better with voice controls for snapping and sharing, since it lacks a dedicated button.

Also for your information, I happen to love Knack. Right now it's my game of the generation (yes, including the Wii U) ;)

I say you guys are over blowing this. Most of the reviewers don't know the commands right, especially IGN.
They had somebody else come in the room to do it like it's supposed to be done. I mean call Xbox *pause* then pronounce commands.

Exactly. Like the Gizmodo video I posted shows, when you know the commands, it works awesome. I was surprised at how quickly everything loaded, too.

I'm at the point where I need to just ignore people that can't be reasoned with. Certain people will trash Xbox One this whole generation that have already made up their minds. In 2 1/2 weeks when Halo and Quantum Break get shown at the VGAs we'll see if it gets anymore respect from these certain people but I doubt it.

When someone makes it their habit to discredit one product over another, you know responding to them is a waste of time.  They are not looking for the truth they are looking to hate.  Those type of people are very obvious because they will always blow something small into something big or they will call stuff crap when no one else has done the same thing.  Its pointless to argue with those type of people and ignoring them is the best route.

To quote Top Gear, "Call Richard Hammond...Collapsing suspension...Cccaallll RRRiiiccchhhaaarrddd HHHHaaammmooonnnddd...Deflating tires...Re-inflate tires!...Calling Richard Hammond"

"Radio 2...accessing bank account...NNNOOO!...transferring funds...God No Don't!..."

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I loled a little, Im sure it wont be that bad.

You obviously did not see the horrid IGN tutorial video where the guy had to repeat himself so many times just to get it to do anything lol. It would takes half the time to just press buttons.

Links!! I must see this now :P

The video was 20mins long and plaster all over IGN's main page this morning. Now its nowhere to be found and a bunch of other XBO videos has replaces it. Comes off a tad suspicious to me but I'll keep diggin to see if I can find it....

Only thing I've seen is people who have no idea how to use the voice commands. You are supposed to pause for a brief second after saying Xbox, then the available commands come up on the screen in green letters then you say what you want it to do. Does it work perfectly every time? Of course it doesn't but people repeating it over and over obviously aren't saying the correct commands and/or not doing it correctly.

U know what i can do correclty every time, press a button.

Voice commands are great but untill they use natural language and work 99% of the time they are just irritating.

It's like waiting for the "Go" command. You need to wait for it to tell you it's ready to listen. You say "Xbox". Microphone pops up. That's the Xbox saying, "OK, I'm listening". Now tell it what to do. On an Android phone, you press the microphone button. Then when the Mic turns on, you tell it what to do. On a Windows Phone, you hold down the Windows button and when you hear the beep, you tell it what to do. You don't just say something when it's not even ready to listen yet. That is what they are doing wrong.

Anyways back to making fun of how people can't make Xbox do what they want with Kinect..
