Forums - Nintendo - Let's face it, Nintendo's ace > Sony's, Microsoft

Say if Nintendo was ever on the verge of going bankrupt somehow, their console isn't making any money and neither is their handheld, however they can't abandon either but the base ideas just aren't appealing, this also applies to the Wii U despite them not being in any trouble. If Nintendo ever got so desperate to where they HAD to make a turnaround they just would have to develop one game that would instantly turn whatever console into a success.

3D Pokemon MMORPG.

If the Wii U had a 3D Pokemon RPG, or just a 3D Pokemon game with the same mechanics as the mobile ones, then even non-nintendo fans will jump aboard, including the millions who play pokemon simulators on their comps. So to be honest, Nintendo doesn't have to worry about leaving the game industry with this ace up their sleeve. Sony and Microsoft don't have things remotely as saving as that would/could be.

That's possible.

My personal opinion is that Nintendo's ace is themselves at their best. If things go really bad, they will kick themselves in the butt and we will see some of their great efforts again. It's happened before, it can happen again.

Sony and MS don't have to rely on ONE title to fall back on because they have the entire support of the third party community.

I don't know about that... Pokemon + consoles = curse... Seriously, not a single one has been that great so far... There were some that were fun but the handheld versions were leagues better. Not saying Nintendo can't use the power of the tri-force and make one godly ass game but man... Pokemon + consoles never seem to get along very well

I've heard this one before.

I'm inclined to believe that it's more profitable for Nintendo to release new Pokemon games every 1.5 years, instead of spending tons of money and time on a game that would essentially make future releases completely pointless.

That's because the console pokemon games didn't follow the traits of the handheld versions, Gale of darkness and Collisuem were not only mediocre, but they weren't as appealing as the mobile games. All Nintendo has to do is take the appeal of the mobile games and put them in a console game. I know real life friends who haven't touched a Pokemon game since Ruby version who would buy a console just for this type of game, hell I know I would, this game is many gamer's dream, to be honest.

Half of this site has been waiting for a game like this for a long time. On the Wii U it would be wonderful! Smash is another one that people will pre-order. Zelda HD is yet another one that will get people to come over to the wii U for. They have some Aces in the hole, just need to bide their time.

This is true and is one of the reasons so many Sony and MS fanboys hate Nintendo. They fear the huge amount of AAA games that they can release by themselves and won't ever enjoy unless they betray Sony/MS

Not really, I was thinking more like the MMO only has the regions the mobile has done already, everytime there's a new region you have to buy the mobile game to explore it, and then when the next mobile game is released an expansion pack for the last region in the mobile game is released for the MMO. Or hell, keep it two regions behind.

You cant rely on one pokemon game to save a console, thats pretty ridiculous.
