PS4 will sell as many as they make available for day 1. They stopped guaranteeing launch day shipments at the start of August.

PS3 also managed to have a surprisingly good start in Europe despite that insane price tag ($599 would have been cheap here!) where it was closer to $850 with the exchange rate at the time.

1 million units sold in the first 24 hours. its held by the PS4. if you are asking about the previous record, i think its held by the GBA, but not sure how much it is.

Previous record was 920k or 980k for PS2 in Japan launch... if I'm not wrong.

I alone have preordered a million consoles in europe, just to get a working one. But don't worry, i'm gonna send the rest back after testing each one.
