Forums - Sales - Sony is back, 1m+ PS4s sold in NA (24 hours)! What about Europe?

It should at least match NA since Europe is a very strong region for PS products in general. But, they also need supplies for the rest of the holidays so they can't sell through their whole first batch with pre-orders alone.
I think part of the reason they launched almost two weeks later in Europe was to sort of gauge the market in NA and adjust accordingly, they're bound to ship a lot of units now.

I gotta say, I thought 5 million by the fiscal year was a stretch, it certainly appears dead given now.

It will be interesting. Remember that in many European countries PS4 is the second console to launch. XO will already be a week old and that may influence what we see when PS4 launches.

BTW. Playstation leading in NA, Xbox leading in Europe This will be a week to remember

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

very impressive first week,..

...but im still worried about sustained sales. this is soo big that it's hard not to imagine sales being very front loaded. still worried...

I can confirm that Europe will sell at least one unit. My unit. Can't say much else at the moment.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

should be big that week you have EU launch and black Friday week in NA if the stock is there for both 2M is possible

Whatever Sony ships they'll sell it. But i have the feeling Sony may have prioritised NA this time, so shipments might b lower in Europe.

well they wont get a sale from me and many others ...
not because I/we don't want one, but because its sold out everywhere :(
maybe I will get one in march/april if they have shiped enough to fulfill the preorders made within the first 24h

Its obvious that there is gonna be a huge drop in sales lol.

Probably wont pick up again until Infamous or something else comes by (after Christmas time I mean).

a drop to obvious.   but where does it drop to?  wiiU's febuary NPD was 60k i think.  that's too low.  ps4 needs to beat that and be in the 100-150k range in feb's NPD escape the same poor outlook as wiiU.  today's numbers are good,. but also worrysome for me.    vita had fantastic first weeks sales afterall.

The PS4 should be able to absorb large chunks of the Xbox market, so potentially disappointing momentum will be masked. PS4 will look okay while One sales will be in the toilet. Additionally, the PS4 would escape the Wii U's poor outlook by virtue of the fact that third parties will continue to make games for it, thus securing a long term future.

perhaps,.. still worried.

even though i enjoy my vita,.. i fully embrace it's failures.  wiiU too.  now i'm jaded and pessimistic on the entire industry.

it wont beat the USA. they arent launching in all of the EU countries after all.
