I never played COD how does the campaign of Ghosts compare to Half Life 2 and Episodes. Even after all these years I still haven`t had a singleplayer shooter coming close to the sheer joy I have when playing Half Life 2. Except maybe Bioshock 1.

I thought the OP was joking comparing Call of Duty campaign to Half Life 2 and Halo but people like different things i guess. The stregths of the franchise surely is multiplayer. Campaign portion is fun over the top romp fest which is not really a bad thing when done well. I just don't think they have anything memorable in this game.

hmm. Ok then interest gone again. What I love about half life is the deep story and the way the story was told (no cutscenes) and the feeling that I was actually in that universe everything was just believable coupled with the fun gameplay of the gravity gun it is truly a masterpiece.

I never gave COD a chance because I thought it would be mowing down one enemy row after another coupled with a shallow hollywood like story and alot of immersion breaking cutscences. This thread made me rethink my position for a short while. For Multiplayer I have to say I am not interested in any Military Shooter anymore I played so much Battlefield I can not see Classical Multiplayer FPS anymore, maybe Destiny will change that.

I thought it was ok, the ending was great though I wasn't expecting it.

I loved it too.

I have played through each mission 3-5 times by now, and none of them have gotten old yet.

The opening mission, the jungle stealth one, the flooded city, the undersea one, the train one, and the second space one are all among the very best missions in the series.

Best campaign of any COD game  to date in my opinion.

You like COD games too, Curl ?

Some of them, yes. :)

I really like Modern Warfare 1, Ghosts, World at War, and Black Ops 2.

Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 1 I found to be so-so.

COD3 and Modern Warfare 2 I hated.

the SP missions are really good, too bad the multiplexer is crud.

This is pretty much how I feel too.

Then again, I've always thought COD multiplayer was utter garbage. I must be the only guy on the planet who buys them for the campaign, haha. XD

People care about single player in those games? There all the same 2 me.

It varies quite significantly between games.

From Infinity Ward:

CoD 1 & 2 actually had quite good campaigns and had a level of respect for the history of the time period.

CoD4 (MW1) was actually pretty good. It had a pretty decent narrative, great level design and some brilliant "shock" moments. The following MW games were terrible by comparison and more in line with a Transformers film in story terms.

From Treyarch:

CoD3 was an insult to FPS', WaW was pretty poor, Black Ops 1 was all over the place storyline-wise but not bad per se. Black Ops 2 was an improvement imo, but I really didn't care for the other Treyarch developed CoD campaigns.

I haven't played Ghosts yet as I'm waiting for them to fix all the issues on PC before I get it.
