Not smart going up against the Xbone launch.

I agree. As if the Wii U didn't drown enough, they chose to put their only hope up agains Xbone. Not to mention the PS4.

Unless Nintendo manages to market the game so well that people actually notice that it exists, I don't see this game helping that much. And Nintendo's recent efforts haven't been the best when it comes to marketing. There's still that slim hope with MK and SSB, but it's just getting harder and harder."

So, the "Smart" thing to do would be what? Not release any new games for 2013 holiday season?

The smart thing would be to not release it the same freaking day Microsoft release their new system.

Oh, and I probably won't reply to you next time unless you quote me.

I don't think it really matters that much to be honest. The XBox One is going after a totally different audience this holiday, largely going to be 18-35 year old males who are hardcore gaming enthusiasts that have $500 burning in their pocket.

NOA's holiday push this holiday is pretty much centered entirely around the family/kids market. Their TV advertising is fairly indicative of that. As long as SM3D World is out before Black Friday, that's fine.

I can agree on the demographic here, but I still think it steal a lot of the thunder the game could have. Good enough marketing and the world of mouth could still do it though. The thing is that the Wii U is drowned by the PS4 and Xbox One's on shelves, and it's sure to take away sales from the Wii U.

You can't sell more games then what your installed user base is.  Not only is SM3dW going to out sell ps4 and xbox1 games, it's also going to move consoles on top of the 4 million that have already been sold.  Do you think that the ps4 and xbox1 are going to have games with a 90-100% attachment rate?  I think not.

PS4 - 1mil/24hrs. Do you think 3D Wolrd will sell more than 1mil just this year? Yes, I knw the answer: No.

Dude! I still haven't seen any Wii U or SM3dW commercials here in the states. WTF!"

What media market do you live in/near? I live in the tri-state area NYC market, and I am not just seeing Wii U commercials for the first time in the past year, but I have seen them every day for the past few days in a row. I've seen 2 different commercials. 1 for Super Mario 3D World, and 1 for Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics Sochi 2014.

I live in west Texas. I guess I haven't been watching enough TV lately...

I bet it sells at LEAST 1 million by the end of year.  Care to live dangerously?

It's already got 2 from me.  Now just 999,998 to go....

Of course Mario 3D World will sell 1m in 2013. That's a brave bet you're taking if you don't think it will.
