Forums - Gaming - PS4 and XBONE are in for the same drought as WiiU

It is not unusual for there to be a drought after the third week of November to the end of January.

Then February - June the games turn on again... Then, the summer drought from late-June to mid-August.. Then, starts to pick up in September again...

Rinse and repeat... Please pace yourself.

This is why iam keeping my ps3 hooked up

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

All consoles in video game history have a post-launch drought. Evryone should expect it tbh.

You guys really using downloadable games as a excuse? Thats a lot of money to spend n a console just to have to wait 90 days for a new huge retail experience.

Some people can play and like downloadable games. Does that come as a surprise?

No it doesn't at all. Though the majority want bigger releases and small downloadable games really don't help fill the void enough in my opinion. I  like downloadable games as well, but it can't make a drought not a drought for a console in my opinion.

Why did you add in "small" now? You'd only need to look at the massive amount of F2P games and not-so-F2P games out or on the way on PS4 to see that not all downloadable games are created equal.

Hmm I guess I can take the small part back, but in my opinion those downloadable games be free 2 play or not won't fill that droughts void in a significant way.

got a source? cause i dont believe it, aint no thing to preorder a game and Amazon is pretty good about release dates. Its not like they put out the system and said yeah about those games...

For some reason I cant copy links with my phone but just do a quick google search

i did do that, and i cant find anything that says those games were delayed AFTER the system came out.

You seriously missed the Rayman Legends delay? The one that announced it was being delayed from March to August to make PS3 and 360 versions? (and also a Vita version it emerged later).

Btw, I did a google search for "Wii U Launch Window Titles" and got this as the first hit:

http://www.geek.com/games/major-wii-u-launch-window-titles-delayed-including-pikmin-and-wii-fit-u-1536348/

I didn't even search for delay... It was published in January 2013, so AFTER the Wii U launched. So yeah, Wonderful 101 was meant to be launch window, I didn't even know that.

"Unfortunately, now, Nintendo has declared that Game & Wario,The Wonderful 101, Wii Fit U, and Pikmin 3 are all being delayed. After originally pledging that these games would be available no later than March 31, Nintendo is now offering the much more vague “first half of the year” time frame."

Thats fair, but my point was none of those games ever got a solid release date. I dont know IMHO until a game gets a solid release date I take it with a huge grain of salt, hell Pikmin was supposed to be a WIi game. But i could see how some people might not feel the same. Amazon is your friend. If I was buying a console at launch and was intending to get those games at launch or around the same time, i would make damn sure they had a date at least, but lauch hype.

All of these consoles have strong launch lineups in my opinion. I remember when consoles would launch with 2 or 3 games to choose from, PS1 and N64 were like this. The Wii U had arguably the strongest launch line up ever seen and the PS4/XBone lineups look very healthy indeed....

So you are ignoring downloadable games then?

Yes, i simply don't feelas if the affect the console much

Not sure if serious....

...At least the PS4 and Xbox 1 FEEL next gen...or the hype for them does anyways.

Anyone who doesn't think the Wii-U is under-rated CLEARLY either isn't paying attention to the industry or just isn't thinking.

Or, they end up in either of the two markets Nintendo aimed for and missed and simply don't care about the thing? It is your opinion that the Wii U is underrated, it is my opinion that it isn't and simply lacks basic appeal. Who can say which opinion is right? You can't accuse a huge part of the population, in here or otherwise, for not thinking or being ignorant just because they don't agree with you.

Generally, signing up in here and starting off with generalizing and accusing the majority of the forum users is a terrible idea.

Hahahahaha.

WiiU lanches without the ability to play 8th gen games, and doesn't showcase any graphical prowess over the much cheaper, and already established, PS3 and xbox.

Saying it is down to simply how many games are out is just wrong. People here are really clutching at straws trying to big up the WiiU.

You are the epitome of dumb AND ignorant, lol.

Developers like Criterion, Slightly Mad Studios, Ubisoft, Shinen, and many others have already stated that they are only utilizing 1 of the Wii U's 3 cores. The things Criterion was able to do with Need For Speed Most Wanted U are just absolutely stunning and blow PS360's version out of the frickin' water! Give it another year or two when developers have learned the hardware inside and out and start developing better engines more geared twoards the Wii U's architecture and start utilizing those other two cores. Oh man are we in for some treats in the future!

Once games like Monolith Soft's "X" (this game alone will be worth buying a Wii U for,) Bayonetta II, Smash Bro's, Zelda U, Human Element, Watch_Dogs, and many others, you will be eating your words and they will be like ash in your mouth.

I am so excited for the next few months!!! Can't wait until Spring for these games to start dropping! I feel sorry for you, lol...

Are you trying to convince him or yourself?

Not trying to convince anyone. This thread is lacking in facts though. I would hate to be the kind of person that is accepting of opinions over reality. These developers have already stated how amazing the Wii U is and how they still have not found out a way to maximize the graphical output becuse they are still learning the console and it's processes. Good thing we have developers like Criterion though leading the way and basing our games off of PC specs that blow the prior generation out of the water.

Compare Perfect Dark launch game on 360 and then Gears of War and that says it all. There is no huge leap this generation, not what you all expected anyway. If you want to get technical, we can talk about how the PS4 AND XB1 are years behind current PC gaming consoles. If you want to bring facts into the argument.
