Forums - Sony - ps4 launch crashes psn.

It was either servers crashing or very slow download speeds(like what happened with Wii U's launch patch). That's expected when too many people acess a server at the same time.

Yeah but, Sony should have prepared for this by buying enough servers. There is no excuse. I have been using XBL for 10 years and this is the first time I've been fucked like this. I can't even log in to my PSN account which means, no trophy access.

at least you can play your games while not being able to update the console. looking forward to Xbox launch.

You can play games, but not with your PSN logged in which means, playing the game=pointless. I just got my system, a controller and two fucking games and it's comptlely useless. Thinking about returning it. Fuck this shit.

Damn dude calm down. I didn't rage this hard when my 360 went RROD and I was without my console for two weeks.

Agreed. But since they clearly weren't prepared, I just wanted to point that it was either one option or another.

I was able to download the firmware patch no problem. Playing knack right now!

How is the game? :)

So far, the game is awesome! Enjoying it very much! Though, I kinda wish I had picked up Killzone also.

Not surprising. Although I understand some of the frustration.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully wont have te same problem with Xbox Live. Shouldnt do though.

Yeah, xbone shouldn't have a problem with the server since they're gonna sell much less than PS4. So less units = less servers required!

Microsoft can handle several hundred millions PCs every patch day. A few million XBOs should be no problem for them, even if the Day1-patch is much bigger than the usual Windows-patch.

This should be very interesting for the X1 launch.  MS is promising a lot of servers for the X1 so you would believe with a service like Azure and 300,000 servers that MS launch should be smooth as butter.  I guess we will see how well MS will be prepared for their launch because Sony is not doing so well.

I don't understand. This is a thread on the PSN. That's Playstation Network. How is Xbox live relevent here? The Xbone isn't even out, so you have no clue how it'll fair at launch. For all we know it'll shut down as well.

Just go away please.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

Sony should have done a better job with psn.i down loaded fw with USB cod is awesome

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

I got the patch without any problems last night, installed before I could move the packaging aside and unwrap the second controller. PSN did not work however.

It's been working fine since this afternoon though. I downloaded Resogun, Contrast, Flower, Sound shapes, Trine 2 demo and one other free to play game. The store is very fast, what a difference with the ps3 store, a joy to browse through now. Online co-op Resogun was working as well, although the other guy said that BF4 multiplayer was still down.
