At this point there's just no way PS4 doesn't win the 8th gen; Microsoft and Nintendo shot themselves in the foot so badly they're crippled before the race even started.

The 1st battle that each and every game has to go through is its initial appeal(getting peoples attention and actually getting people to look forward to the game).

The 2nd is The Battle Of The Reviews

The 3rd is The Battle Of The Sales

 

Puppeteer, for example has triumphed in The Battle Of The Appeal and The Battle Of The Reviews. It sadly seems to have been defeated in The Battle Of The Sales though :(

 

Super Mario 3D World, for example, has triumphed the 1st Battle. It now looks to be on track to triumph in The Battle Of The Reviews

I think that MS has shot themselves BUT has healed and recovered its wounds before the race started

 

and what exactly do you think Nintendo shot themselves with? In what area do you believe they screwed up?

after reading this, its funnyhow SM3DW was in fact unappealing to many With the first reveal trailer, but now its a game where people will buy/on the fence to buy a wiiu!!!

 

Has any game had so much hate (it did, just look at all them critics and forums o.O) the first time seeing it (cuz of the fact its not SMG3) and then exploded with so much hype close to release? IGN was so bored of it and had no coverage and now everybody seems to want to get in the action. This game is going to highlight Local Co op! Only negative thing is no online imo

I dunno, there still seems tto be a lot of backlash against M$ over the "inferior multiplats" thing, and high price.

As for Nintendo, where to begin...

- Abandoned the Wii too early, burning fans and bleeding gamers to the competition.

- Not making Wii U clearly stomp ps3/360 power wise out of the gate.

- Letting Wii U fall into a software drought right out of the gate.

- Terrible, inadequate marketing.

- Rampant delays of key software like Pikmin 3.
