If they got a Final Fantasy VII Remake on the 3DS or something + new model + price cuts across the board ... but that's a helluva lot to pull out of one's hat, lol.

Truthfully they've probably spent most of their big bullets for the West and you're right the third holiday season traditionally is the peak for most game systems. 3DS is simply likely within it's peak period right now.

I don't necessarily think they need a single enormous game to have a good 2014. There are already a decent number of 3DS games announced for next year, most of them probably coming in the first half. There's a good chance another Pokemon game will be released in the second half, and then Nintendo has quite a few more options. I don't see a price cut happening next year. Yet another new 3DS model would surprise me as much as the 2DS did.

2014 will probably be down YOY from 2013, but not by much. Pokemon will still be going strong.

I think they will be down YOY from 2013 also, but may be able to keep at a reasonable pace with a price reduction ($30 for all models). 2015 is probably where it will start to fizzle a bit.

VGChartz places 3DS sales for November 2011 at 1,986,359. I do believe the console have a better November than it had in 2011, so there's very little room for it to outsell itself in that month and somehow not sell over 2 million.

Pretty sure you're looking at worldwide sales.  Nov 2011 was 795k for 3DS.

"Between October 6 and November 2, gaming hardware, software, and accessories combined to generate $791.1 million at US retailers, up 5 percent year-over-year. Most of the gains were driven by software, which (including PC games) were up 10 percent to $495.1 million. Grand Theft Auto V sold nearly 1.1 million copies to top the charts in its second month of release, holding off a strong field of new releases including Pokemon X and Y, Battlefield 4, Batman: Arkham Origins, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. In all, eight of the top 10 games were new releases, with only GTA V and another Take-Two offering, NBA 2K14, surviving from September's top 10."

So, 12M for Pokemon doesn't look so bad all of a sudden, right?

No because its going to easily surpass it, its halfway there in one month of sales

Still - tracking 1.8M behind B&W with the gap increasing each week. Good luck with that.

Ok and we all kno its tracking behind a game with over 150mil user base, now be more reasonable and compare it with DP.

Are you going to compare GTA6 to GTA5 First Month sales? Probably not.... -_-

360 did 166k.

Looks like VGC has a problem tracking big selling games. GTA is also heavily overtracked.
