Texture and effects are downgraded on all MP versions (frame rate is king).

It´s not impossible they couldn´t tell apart the MP.

1: They didn´t play side-by-side.

2: They didn´t play close to a large TV screen.

3: They rushed the review not to get public after other major sites.

I heard a rumour they were in different rooms when they viewed it... don't know how true this is (you know the internet and all :)

Well i agree, and that's why i said they should have waited to review it like a few sites are doing.  Because the conditions were not right, and obviously they couldnt directly compare, and when they are comparing like for like games, it's pretty important, especially if you are giving scores for game specific versions and talking about how they compare.

The problem with rushing reviews out to get clicks, is that they have made themselves look foolish as they have not necessarily shown themselves to be very ... meticulous in their jobs.... it shouldnt be a gaming website like GAF that notices these things when these people going to the events are the experts.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

so PS4 was having frame rate issues when it was rendering internally at 1080p then outputting at 720p upscaled to 1080p,

I wonder if outputting at 1080p native this will make the frame rate worst or better.

If you want to have a preview of the next DF XOne vs PS4 screenshot face-off, they made a 720p vs 1080p COD Ghosts comparison (PS4@720p vs PC@1080p) on Eurogamer.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-13-day-one-patch-makes-call-of-duty-ghosts-single-player-1080p-on-ps4

Huge difference between the 2 resolutions, one has 2.25 times more pixels and it really shows. Even Arthur Gies would notice...

I am instantly taken back to ALL the 000's of threads from all around the internet with people saying OMG look at the difference of 1080p, thinking to myself, really?? I can't see a difference at all. Now I know I wasn't just a desperate fanboy but infact, just a realist.

This makes a lot of people look very daft

Again, the difference they are showing is in single play, when all the effects and textures are max.

But any way, that is not a very good comparison, as it is a PC with god knows what setting.

Only interesting thing here is how people will see whatever they want to see when told or thinking something is superior. Kind of funny in a way.

Update: Activision has confirmed that the version of Call of Duty: Ghosts made available to IGN for review (and displayed in the video embedded below) was presented at native 1080p. The issue described below and the corresponding day-one patch only affect retail copies of the game.

WTF!?!?!?

But the IGN footage was the main evidence of both versions running at same resolution!?!?!?!

I quit.
