I disagree entirely on that. Melee was vastly better than Brawl IMO, and I know many, many people that agree. Brawl was too slow, too floaty, and too polished.

Also, my opinion is that Wind Waker, while charming and lots of fun, was a downgrade from Ocarina and Majora's Mask, while Twilight Princess ran about on-par with Wind Waker - it had almost no charm and was, IMO, less fun, but it was more exciting and a longer adventure. Skyward Sword was definitely better than Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, but still not as good as the N64 Zeldas.

Zelda has been in a state of fluctuation for the past fifteen years. It's steadily been top tier gaming, but has definitely not always improved.
