No. CoD will run with smooth famerate at launch on PS4... the issues are in campaing close to check points and IW is already fixing that.

What I don't get is why didn't they just drop the resolution on the PS4 if that would have solve the problems of it falling below 60 FPS. That's one of COD's important benchmarks.

Unless that wouldn't have solved the problem. There could be other things going on, but not making that benchmark, after you claimed it, could backfire.

Because Infinity Ward probably felt they could keep the resolution higher and figure out a way to deal with it later. CoD is obviously about multiplayer so that's what most who buy it are going to care about and that also means those people will be online to get the patch for it. I would say that a majority of people will be connected with either console regardless of preferences and only those who have no internet for whatever reason won't be. So the patch will make its way to most owners. It's not ideal. Certainly. However, I feel people are mistakenly believing this has something to do with PS4's hardware. No. This is an optimization issue. To be honest, I'm surprised X1 is not running the game at a higher native resolution. It can't be that demanding. I'm fairly certain that both the resolution of the X1 version and the current framerate issues of the PS4 version are thanks to IW. Not the hardware of either.

Because they will solve that in 1080p... there are woring is a patch for fix these framerate issues.

BTW the little framerate issues are in the offline single-player.

I knew that while I was typing, wondered if anyone was paying attention. that was the obvious rebuttal. It Just proves that the upcoming gen isn't as big a step forward as in the past. we have always been moving north. next gen is more of a north west step. fundametally the same games with a shinier coating and extra features on the box.

As for numbers.......Both systems have proved they could run games at 1080p and neither early on is running 100% games at 1080p. Now, before the reselution issue came up, the specs were out and the PS$ was praised to be more powerful so in the struggle to achieve the max numbers, I think it's obvious the ps4 would be the one pushing it more consistantley.

Asside from the numbers my personal view point, I have not seen a difference in the versions of the multi plat games (in motion). Some screen shots selectivley snaped make both sides shine brighter but the thing is we play games in motion, not screen shots.

Ps4 has the flashy numbers but I really don't think this gen's main upgrade is more 1080p games. and the difference between the 360 an x1 versions of the games we have seen so far proves it.

Of course its a matter of optimization but all games dont perform the same. Just because one game runs at a steady frame rate does not mean all should run at the same fram rate. How Killzone and Battlefield run is irrelevent. Looking foward to seeing this patch. My pc version runs fine, everybody wont get the same performace in pc games.. Thats the way its always been.
