Forums - Gaming - In Hindsight, how much of a megaton is DESTINY on PS4?

Nope.  Final Fantasy started dying a fast death after FFX was relaeased on the PS2.  And while some Xbox supporters made the claim that it was expected that Bungie would go multi-platform after it broke away from Microsoft, the same could be said when SquareEnix started to support the Xbox 360 with Last Remnant and Project Sylpheed before the FFXIII announcement.  So it seems your post doesn't even match the impied impact of the picture on the right.

Bungie is a 3rd party Developer now i don't Understand how it's Megaton that their game is coming to Playstation when it's multiplatform lol

So you're saying if Naughty Dog turned third party tomorrow and brought The Last of Us 2 to the Xbone, that wouldn't be anything unexpected?

The big difference is that Destiny is an new IP and the Last of Us isn't we all knew that there next game was going to be Multiplat when Activision became their publisher.

WRONG. Did you even read this thread?

Many ppl thought MS would have 1 year timed-exclusive rights to DESTINY... and the Xbox fans were talking about how HUGE that would be for the next gen Xbox.

Look at this thread from 2012 when all the Xbox fans thought Destiny would be timed exclusive on Xbox and are talking about how its a big Win for MS to have it associated with their brand.

Now that it turned out the game is multiplat and PS4 has exclusive marketing rights and DLC... the xbox fans are trying to downplay it. It's actually quite comical.

?

Uncharted and the Last of Us are Sony owned IP's.

Hence two separated IP's. I don't know why he's saying The Last of Us isn't a new IP.

Somini was talking about a scenerio where TLOU 2 would be released on the Xbox you know a sequel.

That was in reply to the Last of US 2 being on xbox, hence it wouldn't be a new IP anymore since it's a sequel.

EDIT:Beaten lol

A few meltdowns do not count as a megaton while few here are in denial of the potential signifigance of Destiny right here in this thread.  My logic is very consistant and still stands.  No cherry picking here.

Not a megaton. More of a "Huh, I didn't see that coming" moment. It was a given that Bungie was going multiplat, all that changed were the details. That said, it was a bit surprising to see it go from "timed XBO exclusive" to "Cross-gen Multiplat with exclusive PS4 content." Honestly, I was more surprised to see that Insomniacs next game is an XB exclusive. If I were to define anything as a megaton, that'd be it.

Destiny is competition to Halo that's why Xbox owners aren't even worried about it.
It looks good but there's more going on in the Xbox world for it to be considered megaton.
Maybe miniton?
Telethon?
