Forums - Gaming - In Hindsight, how much of a megaton is DESTINY on PS4?

Also you keep saying timed exclusive and that means multiplatform. Again your all over the fucking place.

SMH... funny how your fellow "Xbox Republic" posters were trying to say Timed-exclusive was just as good as a full exclusive in that thread I linked to from 2012.

Now please go away and stop replying to this thread. All you're doing is trying to derail it and get it locked up.

It's pretty big, almost the equivalent of Insomniac making Sunset Overdrive as an Exclusive for the Xbone.
But yeah its pretty big, We will just have to wait and see how big this game will be (i think it will be pretty big).

LOL I hope youre being sarcastic.

DESTINY will probably sell 6-8 million on PS3/PS4 combined. Dat Activision marketing, and massive Bungie fanbase.

Sunset Overdrive will be lucky to sell 1.5 million.

So did you think Bungie was going to split with Microsoft, but continue to make exlcusive content with Microsoft? Once they split everyone knew, regardless of the timed exlclsuive rumor, that they would be making multi platform games.

That is why this isn't anything big. We knew this was happening years ago.

Also 1 person said it was huge, but because it is their most wanted game to play. Not because Sony gets a Bungie game.

Ummm they just said That they have taken Halo as far as they Wanted to and that after Reach the would no longer make any more Halo games, so Microsoft owned the rights to Halo as an IP but they never owned the studio. And also they were never With Microsoft they have always been an Independent company, they are not like Rare or NaughtyDog.

Moneyhatted content for unprecedented partnership. Still multi? Not that of a megaton.

I wish I was being Sarcastic but I really do love Insomniac and I feel bad because i'm most likely never goin to play Sunset overdrive as i will be Sticking with my PC and then a PS4 for most of this generation as there is really nothing else I care about (as of yet, cuz i wo't buy a console for 1 game) on any other console.

So it is pretty big for me as I wish I could play that game but won't be able to because of whatever deal that was made. And who knows maybe Destiny will Suck and Sunset overdive is the next Halo :P . As far I'm concerned It is very big that Bungie made a game on the PS4 and that it is the definitive platform for their game, but to me Sunet overdrive Being a True Exclusive to the Xbone is bigger in my eyes.

*Heavy Sigh* I really wish Insomniac didnt do what they Did with this game
KK sry back to the Topic at hand ;)

Pretty much my thoughts

Bungie has not even shown DESTINY running on XB1 yet. Everything they've shown has been running on PS4.

It's also very possible that Sony will have an exclusive DESTINY bundle when the game is released. This would be HUGE and would be Sony's best way to counter the inevitable Titanfall bundle that MS will have.

This is probably the most underrated pick up for either company. It would be like MS getting Naughty Dogs next big IP on their console, with exclusive content and marketing (would never happen since Sony owns ND, but you get the point)

If you truly belive they where showing in real PS4 retail unities...

You are clearly overestimating this issue. Destiny were to be a Xbox timed exclusive because Bungie didn´t had the man power/money to port the game to 4 (or 5 or 6) platforms at the same time. It´s clear that Activision brought up its tradition of porting the game for the broadest user base possible.

The cross generation debacle we are seing this month. The performance and bugs of CoD, AC4, Watchdogs and even Battlefield 4 shows how dificult it might be to achieve a outtanding performance when you have so many versions to delivere in so little time.

A megaton is something that nobody expected, most gamers analysts expected that when Bungie joined activision that Bungie end up multiplatform. I am not that excited about Destiny because Bungie is a hit and miss company, marathon and Oni were not really that amazing (ofcourse their will be a few who think so) Halo was a hit but will Destiny be at the end?

I think the amazon psn store is a megaton (nobody predicted it and is huge news):

None at all, in the context of what megaton is supposed to mean. Bungie and MS parted ways, amicably I think, after Bungie decided they didn't want to be a one trick pony and Bungie said they were going multiplat.

As much as I like Insomniac, I think Sony got a better result out of Bungie going multi than MS got out of getting an exclusive from of Insomniac. Though I think with more creative freedom I think Sunset Overdrive will be a much better game than Fuse.
