Hint 42 -
Double the fun for the first and only time in the series.

Hint 41 -
This title has seen a sequel and a handful of re-releases/remakes since its debut 4 gens ago.

#42: Mario Kart: Double Dash

#41: Don't know

Double Dash is correct :)

On the second one, think about that 4. It has to do with another thing as well.

40. Animal Crossing: New Leaf
3DS (2013)
Nintendo EAD 2

The Animal Crossing series is one of the most unique and divergent series in all of modern gaming. If you explain the concept to another gamer I'm sure you'll get a very strange look. Decorate your house! Go fishing! Dig up some fossils! Befriend your neighbors! Design clothes! Sounds like a blast right? Well, in it's own unique and charming way, it really is. There's no greater goal in the series. No big endgame waiting for you to strive for and then watch the credits roll. Just... a day in the life of a villager in the quiet and quaint village of ______ (insert the name of your town here). Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the newest entry into the series, and it also breathes in new life thanks to giving the player more control over his/her city as its Mayor (with the help of the adorable assistant Isabelle). Each day offers something new to discover or collect. Long after the grand adventures and epic quests are over, and the credits roll for other games, I'll still find myself heading back to my home in Animal Crossing.

Hint for #39:

I forgot the clue for today's game, but it's already been edited in so I'll just say it:

40) Second Sight (PS2 / 2004 / 76)

Extremely underappreciated, especially by critics. It's a solid third-person shooter with the best psychic gameplay I've seen in any game (suck it Psychonauts), an interesting sniping mechanic (partially auto-aim), and an intriguing story told through a series of flashbacks. I haven't played it for years, unfortunately, but I still remember having a great time with it.

Hint for #39: A widely loved game from a once widely-loved developer. I still love them (unlike CERTAIN moderators) but even I admit that they have murdered this series. They could potentially save it next year, but they almost certainly won't.

Dragon Age... something.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

#39 is the first open world version of the most popular open world series ever released.

Elder Scrolls Arena or GTA?

I think Arena.

40. Yoshi's Story (37 last year), first impression 6, replayability 10, Technical 7.5

Pros: Replay value, far and away. Secrets to find, like the elusive orange yoshi (perhaps mere rumor, requiring one to get all the coins, many of which were highly obscure), Black and White Yoshis, 24 stages that you could chain in as many combos as you wished (though some of those big hearts were mega-tough to find). The game was more exploration focused, and the bosses were surprisingly fun for a game that is often accused of being too easy.

Cons: It took me a while to understand this game when i first bought it (the first Christmas after i got into gaming), so the game loses *big* on first impression. It wasn't for a long time until the game clicked with me. Some stages are too easy, some are too damn hard (Lift Castle, Piranha Grove, Blarg's Boiler, the aptly-named Frustration).

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
