Killzone looks like ass in everything that isnt used as promotional video.

Ryse looks decent all around with nice character models.

Clearly you're someone that doesn't appreciate all the innevitable comparisons to Titanfall. ;)

How's that native 1080p 60 FPS XB1 exclusi- Oooooohhh....

OP: I think the question whould be asked which one is linear while still not ebing able to run native 1080p in 60 FPS.

He is actually a PC guy I am not mistaken just throwing that out there(still being kind of silly saying it looks a** that's just silly and shows he is just trying to start some crap lol)

And the native 1080p 60 FPS doesn't mean it will always look better so that is kind of a cheap shot as well.

Last point it just seems like you are taking chearp shots instead of discussing the question at hand.

He ain't anything like a PC guy I can assure you that from my observations.

Am I the only one that finds it amusing how all of the PS fans are suddenly claiming games that have bigger draw distances and a nicer colour palette are more visually impressive when last gen Halo Reach/4 couldn't get any credit for such things in comparison to closed in, duller coloured games like Uncharted?

I just find it funny how people's tunes change whenever it's convenient for them.

Yet you ignore the fact that Ryse looking good is about the only positive thing going for it. It looks junky, the gameplay is looks bad, yet Xbox fans ignore it. Look at things from both sides young man.

Nice deflection. This thread has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH GAMEPLAY. This thread is about visuals, and visuals alone. No one is over-looking anything because what you're trying to claim is being over-looked isn't even a part of this conversation. Thanks for joining in with your typical derailment of a thread, though.

It's also impressive that you can tell how a game is going to play before ever playing it.

Being junky is part of the visuals, the game just doesnt look great once gameplay starts. However, it's pretty and have amazing character models. And you seem to know me, yet i have no idea who you are.

Clearly Killzone. I've played SNES games with more color and personality than Ryse.

C'mon man. Atleast give credit where it's due. A mild PC dude like myself as well as DF thinks that it's very impressive.

Killzone does win on one front by the fact that it is more technically impressive. I mean do ryse even feature areas that are larger than 100m while also giving some nice destructible physics too in the process ?

Nonethless you have to admit that the texture quality is very impressive while also featuring nice character models in ryse.

The character models in Ryse look fantastic, I agree. That's the only leg up on Killzone I can percieve. Art design may be subjective, but what I've seen of Ryse has been sorely disappointing. >:( Why bother with detailed textures when everything is going to look so samey?

An impressive vista like this deserves much more than fifty shades of grey and similarly muted colors.

That's just one part of the game man. I've seen some gameplay and the game does feature pretty good green foliage as well as well as some nice buildings with different colours.

I especially love the shadows that the soldiers on the shore are casting.

In general the lighting seems a bit screwy. That's something which could've been rectified before release, though.

this reminds me of the GOW III vs Killzone 3 debate we had here... back then, i did prefer KZ and in this situation i see myself thinking the same...

I don't know what you see. But let me explain how I see it, me, a Sony guy

Ryse looks quite good. It has really nice character models, but especially good facial animations.

Killzone doesn't seem to have facial animation as intricate as the ones found in Ryse, but whatever else Ryse does well, Killzone does it just as well.

Where things get in Killzone's favour is when you include that bigger draw distance, the more visually pleasing colour palette along with everything both games do pretty much equally.

Now, take that, and up the resolution to 1080p...

Basically, Killzone does pretty much everything Ryse does, technically, but on a bigger scale.

Eh he wouldn't know the difference anyway. Graphics deals with visual quality whereas draw distance represents technical quality. The one ignorant here is mostly him.

The problem I have right now is that most of the screenshots I've seen look something along the lines of the one I showed. :/ The best screenshots I can find are this:

And this.

And still, that leaves me to wonder "why doesn't the entire game look this good?"

if you look at still screenshots they look comparable but...

1080p vs. 900p
60 fps vs. 30 fps

...graphically speaking the winner is obviously killzone.

The Last of Us:
720p / 30 FPS

Wipeout HD:
1080p / 60 FPS

--> Wipeout is obviously the best looking game on PS3 and Xbox 360.

silly responce doesn't really deserve an answer but,..

when you look at the still screenshots of wipeout and TLoU the level of details isn't even close hense the comparison isn't valid.

ryse and killzone, however, have similar detail.  but when viewed on a big screen TV instead of on these forums killzone's 1080p will be noticable.  when actually played (aka in motion) the smoother animations of 60 fps will also be noticable.

killzone get's the nod.

LoL.

Killzones level of detail is average at best. BF4 offers way more than that.

Characters?

vs.

whatever makes you happy though.

The visuals in killzone is very detailed. Making your game 1080p 60 fps doesnt automaticallu mean the visuals get downgraded or less detailed. Its not that simple.

I believe they hold back on graphics to make sure they achieve resolution and frame rate goals.
