Sorry pretty common sense, at least the majority of law enforcement know that trying to ban guns in any form won't stop the criminals. Your delusional if you do.

I think you have a misunderstanding of the other side.  I doubt that the other side is thinking "if we ban guns, criminals will disappear!"  I think that the more restrictive gun laws are more for school shootings and the such.  I think the other side would say that more restrictive gun laws would help keep guns out of the hands of mentally unstable individuals.  It may sound like a stretch, but to say they are delusional for thinking that, you have to be pretty arrogant yourself.

The military bans personal owned guns in their duty stations. That is not common sense.

No offense but even with more gun control someone that wants to go shoot up a school building can and will get there hands on a gun, no amount of gun laws will stop them from getting one to do something illegal.

I have no idea what any of what I said has to do with anything of what you said.  Where does the military fit in with what I said?

i dont see how any amount of gun control, other than an out right ban, and somehow everybody complying with said ban, would have prevented any school shooting or shooting in general. because in the past 50 years all but 1 mass shootings in the US have taken place in supposed "gun free zones" where guns where supposed to be banned already. and almost every shooter got their hands on the guns illegally as well.

See, you are making the assumption that every person who wants to shoot up a school will have the personality and means to do something illegal and get their hands on a gun anyway.  While it may be possible, you have no way of knowing that.  That's why I say you have to be pretty arrogant to think that.

Deregulate gun laws is not common sense. I'm on your side mate.

Just to make sure of something, I wanted to look up "gun free zones" and I think you were making that statistic up considering "gun free zones" weren't a thing 50 years ago.  Also, while we're at it, I'm sure you should know that there are multiple ways to illegally get your hands on a gun.  Certain arms restrictions could indirectly make it harder for those who illegally got their weapons to gain access to them.
I am not saying ANYTHING about whether or not it WILL work, but I AM saying that there's nothing "common sense" about it, nor is there any "delusions" on thinking anything but the way you guys think.

Your missing the whole point. A criminal who wants to do something illegal isn't going to abide by a gun law. So banning them from your average person makes no sense at all.
