Imagine we would apply this rule to all threads - only people allowed there which buy the game/console the thread is about... No, we don't want that.

That wasn't a valid reason. The Vita screen ratio is the same size as a 16:9. The PS4 running remoteplay would just downgrade the quality for viewing on the Vita. you'd get an exact image on the Vita that you do on the PS4 with an HDTV. The only difference on the PS4 than using a regular controller that we were given was the touch pad would swipe up and swipe down to change skills on the fly. Did you forget that the Vita includes both a touch screen and back touch panel, one of which could replicate this effect. Their so called valid reasons is nothing more than bullshit coming out of their mouths. |
I don't know, I've read a neogaf thread where some guy from Blizzard said, when playing multiplayer there is too much going on a 5 inch screen, and you can basically see shit.
So what do you think is the reason why they decided to disable the feature? Too much work mapping the buttons?
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Just check any "negative" Xbone thread, MS fanboys are all in arms when Sony fans are all over the thread.
And because you don't want that, doesn't mean I don't, the amount of threads derailed on here is really disturbing if you ask me, and usually they are derailed by the opposing fans. Just check the "Reaper of Souls" thread to check what a huge drama Imaginedvl made over nothing (he was wrong btw.) and there are tons of other threads. in the official Vita thread, there pretty much are no other fans, which doesn't mean he don't discuss, argue, etc. and imo it is the best thread on these forums.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

""The Vita is an amazing piece of kit, but the screen is still smaller. And also it has its own aspect ratio..."
Yeah, 16:9 is a very unusual aspect ratio ;)
A conversion from 1920x1080 to 960x540 is as straight as it gets from a scaling perspective... just dump every second pixel!
This is honestly bad. Expect the more money-grabbing publishers to disable Remote Play and throw a cheap Vita port on the market instead.

The excuse that there's too much going on screen is bs. Whether it's a 5" screen or a 50" screen, the aspect ratio is the same, and the video is being streamed from the PS4 to show exactly what's on the tv to also show what's on the Vita. How is there too much on the Vita but not on the tv? When you're playing a portable, how far is your face from the screen? What about your television? Depending on the answer, that 5" Vita screen may be a little smaller, the same size, or larger than your 50" television screen.
I'm no developer, but it shouldn't be difficult for them to program if the game is being played with remote play that a swipe in a direction on the touch screen would be the same swipe using the touch pad. If other developers can add specific features by swiping the screen, then Blizzard can do the same. You could argue that it's a PS4 game, but it could be patched into the PS4 game that this would act as this in the event of remote play.

Actually the PSVita is 960x544, so you couldn't just dump every other pixel. Though really, screen isn't really a big issue, just have tiny 2 layer pixel black outs on the top and bottom. |
I know, but it ain't that hard to ignore two lines at the top and the bottom... just leave them black and use a 960x540 resolution instead of 960x544.

To see everything clearly you'd have to keep the 5' screen too close to your face to comfortably hold and play it?
As for the second paragraph, yes it shouldn't be a problem. So what do you think is the reason?

I would be pretty shocked if Diablo3 didn't support the Remote Play feature. Regardless of how small the screen is, or how "big" the play is, it's a title that should have no problem supporting the feature. And given how Blizzard was at Sony's reveal event, touting Diablo 3 for Sony, it would be a pretty big slap in the face, if a flagship title like this didn't support Sony's most attractive new feature. Sony should step in a see that it gets done, or it will be a standard for other devs to go the same route. "oh, OUR game is too big and fancy for the little vita screen too." Blizzard needs to get off their high horse. They wanted to be on PS4, they got it....now it's time to own up to their end of the agreement. Bringing D3 to PS4 includes remote play for the vita, end of story.

Agreed. And if they don't support remote play for the Vita, they don't support remote play for Vita TV either.
The TV screen of a connected Vita TV should be big enough. 960x540 resolution on a TV ain't pretty, but it should be sufficient. They allow resolutions down to 800x450 (800x600 letterboxed) with the PC version.
