Allnets on B3D is one of the few known pixel counters on the web and posted this about the X1 version of AC4:

Anyhoo, as far as I can tell from the XO footage of Assassin's Creed IV the other day, it's 1600x900 w/ their post-AA stuff.


So yeah I wouldn't take it as gospel just yet I believe he was working off a crummy video, but those are his preliminary findings.

 

For me I actually count this as a victory (even assuming PS4 is 1080P). The visual dfference between 900P and 1080P wont be that ,much, and at least 900P is a nice improvement on last gen. It's the 1080 PS4/ 720 X1 games (so far just Ghosts I guess) that bother me.

all this "pixels mean nothing" talk is getting on my nerves. same game, same fps? more pixels = better.

900p may be the new standard, we dont need 1080p - this was the tag line back in the day "who needs 1080p"

I mean seriously, there must be something wrong with the Xbone if it won't be 1080p. We've seen the PS4 version, it's pretty much a upressed PS3 with the same textures, models, and a few tweaks.



So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

I haven't checked much of the PS3 version of BF4 but I am pretty sure it is way, way bigger jump technically wise than Ass Creed from PS3 to PS4. Will check it and gladly proove you wrong with more than my memory.

Its the same deal really. Much like AC4, The PS4 version of BF4 is gonna have higher res textures, better shadows, better lighting, more effects, 60 fps, etc.

The BF4 developers really wanted to achieve 60 fps, so that's why you have 900p. Down the road, maybe we'll see even superior looking games achieving 1080p and 60fps.
