If they feel it provides them $60 of entertainment, what's the problem?

Are you in a 3rd world country? Is $60 annuallty a lot of money to you?

Yes I'm, and no it's not... even tough why pay yearly for the same content??? I have 120 PS3 games and no yearly franchise on it have more than 1 game (1 fifa, 1 pes is all I have of yearly franchise)... If you like to pay 60 for the same game multiple times be my guest, maybe you're just to rich...

You own 120 PS3 games... yet you think people who bought every CoD are rich?

Simply... brilliant.

Are you impaired? You asked if 60 is to much and said no... but to pay 60 every year for the same game is insane (and there are some folks that just play this, so in Xbox360 in 7 years of CoD the person would have expended 14*60=840 dollars, and that is a lot).

And I'm assuming that you may be rich if for you its just a small exchange.

Yet it made more money than GTA V... This may be the decline of CoD but its still very sad to see them sell so damn high...

Then you'd be assuming take two only shipped $800m-$1b worth of GTA. That is highly unlikely, since they sold $800m day one (to consumers)

Well... its not only that, I am taking into account how much each game probably costed to develop... I think GTA V took 295 million to make (correct me if I am wrong) And Ghosts probably took 40 million, even 50 million if lucky... So its not only how much did they both sold which Ghosts did sell the same amount as GTA V in day 1 if not more, Its also how much did each game took to make...

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Call-Duty-Ghosts-Sales-Hit-1-Billion-Did-It-Outsell-GTA-5-60368.html

Do take into account I have no hard facts of the development costs of Ghosts but I doubt it took much at all

No, my point is that Ghosts didn't come anywhere close to selling as much as GTAV day one. It sold less than $500m day one, while GTAV sold $800m. Simple as that. Even with the 200-250m difference in dev costs, GTA still profited more on day 1.

Probably due to GTA only being on current gen and people waiting 5 years.

It seems that AC4 is facing some difficulties as well.

But I think this is expected, I mean, transitions between generations always represent risks because the old generation marketing is dying usually generating less sales compared to the previous years.

However, they also have ways to offset that, for instance trying to release the game on other platforms such as the Wii U, unfortunately for them Wii U sales did not took off (yet).

Unsurprising.

Next gen shift + GTAV + general slowing down.

$840 over period of 7 years is not very much money to most gamers.

Once again, they wouldn't keep buying CoD games if they weren't enjoying them. Worry about your money and games. You'll sleep better when you accept not everyone has the same gaming habits as yourself.

Well its a good thing playing CoD is a cheap hobby.

So is walking the dog.

You should create a list of all the recession proof hobbies you can think of.

Your original response was useless and we should drag it on as long as possible.

Now they won't afford the pool of diamonds and they will have to settle with one of sapphires.

This is good for gaming. It will open up people to some new IP's. CoD isn't going to disappear, it will just be reduced to a blockbuster every year versus a mega blockbuster. Just a 20-30% reduction from the peak.

It is near the end of the end....

Apparently not... Enjoy your expenditures.

So funny they change the way they report the numbers this year(sold to stores instead of customers) just to claim they had a bigger launch than GTA V.
