It was expected because of the transition..
Even FIFA 14 didn't outperform FIFA 13. We need to see how these games do on launch for next-gen to get the bigger picture.

Then you'd be assuming take two only shipped $800m-$1b worth of GTA. That is highly unlikely, since they sold $800m day one (to consumers) |
Well... its not only that, I am taking into account how much each game probably costed to develop... I think GTA V took 295 million to make (correct me if I am wrong) And Ghosts probably took 40 million, even 50 million if lucky... So its not only how much did they both sold which Ghosts did sell the same amount as GTA V in day 1 if not more, Its also how much did each game took to make...

Do take into account I have no hard facts of the development costs of Ghosts but I doubt it took much at all

Reviews? I think the outdated engine, copy and paste gameplay was enough to put many off.

Well COD releases a game every single year. GTA comes aorund once every 5 or so. Not really a fair comparison. I'm pretty sure Activision wouldn't swap the rights to CoD for the rights to GTA even if you held a gun to their head. CoD is a way bigger cash cow in the grand scheme of things.
It's a generational thing. The teens that bought COD4 are growing up and moving on. It happens with all mainstream trends.

We hope for that every year... but then, dumb gamers keep buying them =[

This. I remember being 16 and playing cod 4 those were the days. :G

I have to say Ghosts is the first CoD game I regret spending money on...... horrible game so far.
