With those types of speeds I can't help but think the entire internet as we know it will need to be re-written to take advantage.
Not sure how to explain this but the current internet infrastructure/experience is just so slow, flat from a visual perspective, and un-interactive. I can't quite articulate it but the current internet is like a bunch of poorly stitched together piles of flat paper or something.
I'm really hoping this will change with more speed and Google fiber seems like a good place to start. It's seems logical that with fast enough speeds cloud services will actually become viable. Then, with most heavy lifting being done remotely, the sky's the limit for what we can do from a processing stand point.
I know, I know, It sounds like a pipe dream, but I'm imagining something much more alive and dynamic/interactive than what we call the internet now. Hopefully fiber and services like it will lead toward a much more visually rich, interactive, and seamlessly interconnected experience.
Fingers crossed, as I'd really like to see the jump to the next thing sooner than later. Until then enjoy your uninterrupted HD streaming you bastard!

Isn't Clear proof that the Devil does exist???!!! I honestly think it's a scam.
Oh, sorry I've been so quiet, folks. I've been ... busy.

Another user from the KC area! Nice!
I live outside the area with Fiber, but it is supposed to expand to my city. I expect it will be a few years before it gets here.

Indeed!
To be completely honest, it's mostly superfluous right now. The internet as a whole just ain't ready for this, so server upload speeds don't give you anything close to 800 mbps. But I'm gonna try to upload some larger files to Skydrive today and see how fast it happens. I'm also eager to try video chat.
Most of all, THIS has made me want an Xbox One more than anything else now. Still gonna wait (bigger priorities right now), but an online world is suddenly a reality for me and I want to LIVE in it!

Make a gif of your download bar dling something like a 15gb game or whatever. Please.

Right, after a certain very low point compared to that monster speed, most services are going to bottleneck you from their end. Peer-to-Peer stuff (if your peer is running Fiber too...) and really high-load things will see the most benefit

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
How much are you paying for the new service? That is an insane speed, congratulations.
