Where do u live what state. We don't have this here in ny

Kansas City MO.  Go Chiefs!

Another user from the KC area!  Nice!

I live outside the area with Fiber, but it is supposed to expand to my city.  I expect it will be a few years before it gets here.

Indeed!

To be completely honest, it's mostly superfluous right now.  The internet as a whole just ain't ready for this, so server upload speeds don't give you anything close to 800 mbps.  But I'm gonna try to upload some larger files to Skydrive today and see how fast it happens.  I'm also eager to try video chat.

Most of all, THIS has made me want an Xbox One more than anything else now.  Still gonna wait (bigger priorities right now), but an online world is suddenly a reality for me and I want to LIVE in it!

Right, after a certain very low point compared to that monster speed, most services are going to bottleneck you from their end. Peer-to-Peer stuff (if your peer is running Fiber too...) and really high-load things will see the most benefit

That's true, but I can't wait to get it anyway.  It is such a great deal compared to what other companies offer around here.  Once my current deal runs out, I will be paying just a little less for a tiny fraction of the speed.

How much are you paying for the new service? That is an insane speed, congratulations.

https://fiber.google.com/cities/kansascity/plans/

It is $70 a month for the internet plan.

That is an insanely good price. I have 20 mbps internet. Although the price is not bad (about 25$), it is actually 20 mpbs only when I use torrent. Youtube barely works, damn throttling.

Wow how much is Google fiber?

I have Clear as well and it has dipped as low as 200Kbps. Ridiculous and a case of major false advertising consodering they guarantee between 3-6mbps. I can count on one hand the number of times my connection speed has been above 3mbps .

How much does that cost anyway? O_o

Wow, this makes me sad. Stop putting fiber in Missouri and Kansas, NYC PLZ.

This is amazingly cheap in my eyes. My parents live a bit out of the way and they pay about 150$ for a 10/10 fiber line, they had to pay about 500$ for the install and the service includes nothing extra at all. In the cities, it's not much better, I paid about 100$ for a 25/5 connection in Trondheim.

Here in Sweden, though, it's really cheap. We're getting a 250/100 line and it will cost us about 100$ per month.

damn thats awesome
I also pay $70, am limited to 120gb downloads (50gb 12pm-12am, 70gb 12am-12pm) with speeds of Download-7.56Mbps and Upload-0.59
=( welcome to Australia (note this is still sub par for Australia)
