You must be new here. If you think anything will catch the Wii at this point then you don't know sales very well. Good day sir.

You need to brush up on your PS console sales history. Historically, a PS console will sell 33% to 50% more after the predecessor has been released.

Because every generation will follow that same formula. #LOGIC

So, what's your logic on why the PS3 won't outsell the Wii?

No. Just no.... That was called saracsm. Every gen does NOT go the same way. That's idiotic. Why would this gen: With all three consoles being successful, follow a forumla for previous generations: when the Ps2 and Ps1 completly dominated? Obviously those consoles will continue to sell on greatly. I don't think you understand life.

Compared to the previous gens, the PS3 has about the same portion of the market relative to price. The Wii's market didn't exist before. PS3 hasn't reached mass market, impulse purchase price yet. It is the biggest gaming brand in the world and by the world, I'm including latin america, and other markets like India, Asia, the middle east, etc... Still plenty of units to be sold yet.
Now, let me hear your logic on why the PS3 won't outsell the Wii?

Every one of those PS consoles has been a generation leader, with a monopoly really on support while being the go-to console in every region.
The PS3 doesnt have these luxuries. Japan isnt going to support the PS3 like Japan supported the PS2. America wont support the PS3 like America supported the PS2.
Europe is another ballpark, as the PS3 is actually doing really well over here. America's "legacy" system will be the 360. Japan wont have one, because Japanese gamers will swiftly move along to either the very affordable 3DS or Wii U/PS4.

The PS3 doesn't need to do PS2 numbers to end up being the generation winner.
You're also forgeting that the PS2 was $129 6 years into it's lifecycle. And the PS2 sold 20M when its price dropped to $99.
And there are plenty of countries willing to buy cheaper PS3s when the US and Japan doesn't want it anymore.
