Nintendo news of 30/07/2014:
- Media Create: Last week, the Wii U sold only 9.4k units, and it's best selling and only game in the Top 20 chart was Mario Kart 8 with 18k units. The 3DS sold 38k units, and it's best selling games were: Yokai Watch 2 with 181k units sold, the newly released Yoshi's New Island with 58k units, YW with 10k units, Taiko Drum Master with 9k; and a bunch more.
- Mario Kart 8 has sold (or shipped + digital) 2.82 million units, as of June 30th.
- SMTIV coming out in Europe this September!
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was delayed to 2015... in Europe only! How does that work? No clue, except maybe region locking...
- Nintendo financials meeting for Q1 FY14 was yesterday. Most of the "important results" are here, but what I care about is sale numbers: Nintendo shipped 510k Wii U's from April to June, up from an amazing 160k last year; and there are 6.68 million Wii U's shipped to date. They have also shipped 820k 3DS in those same 3 months, down from 1.4 million last year, and there are 44.14 million 3DS shipped.
- A new Hyrule Warriors trailer!
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
