can somebody tell me why nintendo ( gamefreak) does not want to make a "real" pokemon for Wii U. I think Pokemon Z would sell very well on WiiU.

Because it would be harder to make and sell less copies than a handheld iteration. A better question would be why Nintendo doesn't have another studio like Genius Sonority make a Stadium or Colliseum-style game.

Do you mean Battle Revolution-style game? Because the Colosseum games main approach was hardly any good and the VS. Modes were just basically a re-skin of the Stadium VS Modes.

I haven't played much of Colliseum and Battle Revolution, having never owned a GameCube or the latter game. I mentioned Stadium and Colliseum because they were better sellers than Battle Revolution, not to mention much better received by critics.

As for what Nintendo could get away with for the Wii U... I imagine if they make high resolution models for all 750 or so Pokemon, make the game very compatible with X/Y somehow (possibly via peripheral plugged in via USB?), include the various basic Vs. options, throw in the ability to make custom rules, have a series of challenges similar to the Cym Leader Castle from the original game, throw in some minigames, include an expanded Box system ala Pokemon Bank, etc. Basically, make the ultimate software peripheral for X/Y.

An alternative would be to simply port X/Y to the Wii U, considering how X/Y makes minimal use of features lie Streetpass or actual 3D. But I don't think that's the direction GameFreak wants to go in.

They wouldn't need that, as they have the perfect compatibility tools for a Stadium-like game and X/Y, the pokebank itself. They just need to enable access to it via the Wii U theorical game, that way you could pass your pokes, items and such (considering those items are 6th gen).

Since the pokebank is essentially a cloud-storage server, the need for a peripheral would be moot and would streamline the interactions between both games. Want to try out your competitive team against the A.I? Just import your team into the pokebank, download it into the Wii U game and have a go at the harder difficulties trainers (like Stadium had).

Probably on the 31st. I don't think Nintendo will skip a Direct this month, especially considering the circumstances

I'm not quite sure what I am supposed to be seeing in that photo. It's just freaking me out really :/

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Just to follow on yesterday's convo, Prime 2 (Trilogy version) does feature similar real time environment lighting by the Charge Beam travelling blast. It's a bit hard to notice on the bright scenarios of Aether, but on Dark Aether it's pretty noticeable.

Just did a comparison between charged shots on Phazon Mines and in Dark Agon Wastes and both effects are pretty noticeable, Prime does look a bit more bloomy than Prime 2.

Yeah I noticed something vaguely similar when I replayed the games not long back. What amazed me the most though is just how well they stand up, despite being, what, over 10 years old?
