I agree.

I...see. Very informative. Care to elaborate?

Also I see no way there will be a Wii U expansion pack, and it doesn't need one anyway. Even if it did it's too late now to make a major difference sadly.

I lobee Wii U, but I can't stand the situation, nintendo, !listen!, create a peripherial which increases the Wii U Graphic power!, ¿how?, I don't Know¡, but please!, do it!, I'm tired,of the Wii U being rejected by third parties!, come on!, "Wii U expansión pack"

The problem is, the Wii U is weaker in too many respects than the other 8th gen consoles. It isn't like the N64, which could get away with an extra 4 MB of RAM. A Wii U expansion pack would have to be massive, both in terms of size and costs to both Nintendo and users. Furthermore, it would likely attract few developers, considering how few people would own both the Wii U and the expansion. On the off chance that Nintendo does release a Wii U expansion, it would likely only be used to improve resolution of select games or something like that.

They won't release anything.

Unlike the SNES, N64 or GameCube, neither the Wii or WiiU have any hidden ports that could be used to connect that "booster pack". Unless you think about the USB ports, but they are so slow that they are useless for that task.

It's not going to happen. End of the story.

they could put in an SD card and pull a ReadyBoost ^^

I agree that Nintendo isn't in as much danger as a lot of people claim they are.

Let's put it this way:

WiiU's RAM memory offers 12.8 GB/s and some say it's slow.

SDHC cards, the ones that WiiU can use, peak at 25 MB/s, and USB 2.0 goes up to 60 MB/s (but I've never seen it reaching that speed).

But in any case, we're talking about MEGAbytes against GIGAbytes. There isn't anything Nintendo can do to solve this.

@QuintonMcLeod: Nice avatar! And welcome to the site.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

The call for some kind of Expansion Pak like the Nintendo 64 seems impossible at this point. The expansion slot on the Nintendo 64 was planned, and the console was built with that port from the beginning. If something like that were coming to the Wii U, there would be a port already. USB and SD Cards are too slow to provide any meaningful performance boost unfortunately :/

We're stuck with the Wii U as is, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If Nintendo can release quality games at a steady pace, then I will happily enjoy the console for what it is.

3DS News: January 21, 2014

Hopefully we get that rumored ND this Friday. I'm ready to start hearing some good news for a change! xD

I'd like to see either ALttP or SMB3 (Or both!) make it to the NA eShop this week as well.

Come on Wii U, pull through

Out of curiosity, has there been a ND on a Friday before? Normally they're on Wednesday, because if it's Friday here then it'd be Saturday in Japan surely...

Good question, I can't remember off the top of my head but I'll try to do some searching.
