Anyway, the Tourney, as in the thread title, in 9 hours away. I will post more details as to the community to join closer to the time when I get a feel for how many are going to be here.

Alright, OP is updated. A big update! Only need to finish off the points totals now, but that should be coming later. So now it's time to start the GOTY awards!
So 2014 has begun, and as usual, it's time to look back fondly on the previous year and point out the standout titles that everyone has been talking about. Being a thread all about Nintendo, of course, all of the titles will feature Nintendo games only. By that I mean you can have Rayman Legends but not Tearaway; Call Of Duty: Ghosts but not Battlefield.
Over the past month or so, you've been posting and sending me ideas for catergories and nominees, so now is the time to vote for your favourite! How, might you ask? Well, it's simple! First I'm going to upload the 10 catergories which I've selected from all your suggestions, and you put down your favourite 3 titles (or less, it's your call), favourite first. I then tally up the scores at the end of the week, and select the most nominated titles to go into a shortlist. You then vote for your single favourite title from each catergory, and voila! We have our Wii-nners! (Sorry)
Here's an example from an unused catergory, to get you started:

3 Points: Luigi's Mansion 2
2 Points: Super Mario 3D World
1 Point: Mario and Luigi: Dream Team

Well, it's one of the games I made the disclaimer for.
Still, when it was revealed it was a surprise because it promised a lot... and failed to deliver most of it. Besides, there's nothing wrong with the categories I mentioned it: it was a surprise and it has sold poorly. Or was it better than the other platformers I mentioned?
